Thread: Better way to self target?
Hello, folks!
In combat, when I'm attacked, my target goes to the thing attacking me. If I want to heal myself, I've got to /peace out of the combat, then use the ESC key to deselect the target, then drop a heal on myself. If the target's still munching on me, often it will reselect before the heal goes off.
Is there a better way to select yourself as a target while still in combat mode, so you can heal yourself?

I made a macro that does that automatically. It's been awhile since I made it so I'd have to pull it up again to get the exact syntax. I think it was something like:
/peace
/healdamage Thellen
I also have macros set up for the couple of people I usually group with, for example:
/peace
/healdamage Bob1
I forgot to add, the advantage to doing it that way is that you don't loose your current combat target. So, it's very easy to heal yourself and continue fighting the designated target.
you don't even have to /peace first. /healdamage self will heal you in combat. You should make a macro for it, so you can add a heal self button to the hotbar.
Steps for making a macro:
1) Go to the abilities menu (looks like \|/ )
2) Click the macro tab
3) Choose an Icon for your macro (one of the heart icons is a good choice)
4) Choose a name for your macro (HealSelf is good in this case)
5) Type the commands you want to execute in the window (in this case we only need one: /healdamage self)
6) Drag the newly created macro into a blank space on your toolbar.
A hotkey to /healDamage self...
It's so simple and elegant... Thanks!
You don't need /peace if you use /healdamage self.
It will heal you while you are fighting
