Thread: Medic Skills for PvP Questions
I have a Master Scout/Novice Pistoleer right now. I haven't decided what direction to go in yet, but most likely he'll be a Master Pistoleer with a menagerie of skills - some Ranger and maybe even some of the BH pistol line. I any event, I've been trying to decide how much Medic to retain for PvP and needed some input:
1. How much of the First Aid line? I currently have FA 3 and am considering retaining it. Should I? Is there a significant difference in self-heal value to warrant it? I will keep at least FA 2 for the ability to heal bleeds.
2. Diagnostics. The purpose of this line is to enhance your treatment speed. It seems like it affects only the rate at which you heal others, not yourself. Is this correct? Is this working as intended or is it bugged? I'm inclined to not retain any of the Diagnostics tree if the speed at which I can heal myself can't be improved. Need feedback on this.
3. Pharmacology. Was considering bypassing this line complete as Novice Medic medicine use skill is sufficient for Stim B's and even Action and Health Wound Medpack B's. Is there a reason to take Pharma 1 that I should be aware of?
4.. Organic Chemistry. Truth be told, I like making medicines.
I have a hunting shack midway between Nym's Stronghold and the Imperial base on Lok and enjoy crafting/experimenting at my Food/Chem station before setting out. I'm incline to retain OC 2 for the ability to make my own Stim B's. Should I take it higher? The Health and Action Wound Medpack B's of OC3 are far superior to A's, but that's not something I'd heal myself of in battle. Though I'm reluctant to lose the ability, I'm don't think I can justify retaining it given scarce skill points and the design of my toon - gunfighter/outdoorsman who is a medical dabbler. Is there any reason to retain OC3 or even OC 4 that I should consider from a PvP standpoint?
Thanks all. Any input you could give, I'd appreciate. At the moment, I'm considering keeping FA 2 or 3 and OC 2. Thanks.
Best for u i think is Pharm 3 and FA2....
Pharm 3 is lower use stim Cs...FA for /firstaid...
trust me as much as u like crafting, crfting your own Bs is a waste of resources...
Chem is absolutely useless to you.You could sell your scout harvests and use that money to buystim Cs madeby doctors. You also have no issues of getting inorganics if u drop chem. Remember doctor crafting is an extension of medic crafting. Basically its like u usinga artisan CDEF whenyou could be using a FWG or DX2...if you could make a CDEF would u use it just bacause you could make itrather buy a better pistol from a WS? its the same idea...
diagnosis is useless because self healing is 10 sec no matter what level medic u are...
Pharm is hands down the most important tree in the medic line for combat types looking for self healing..it will allow u access to higher packs. A higher packs with lower FA will almost always heal for more than a lower pack with higher FA...But remember, u need at least pharm 3 to get any benefit from pharm..so if you cant take it to lvl 3 dont add any...
so drop Chem totally and put drop FA to 2 and get pharm 3 and use lower use stim Cs...
if u can get pharm 4 for normal Cs and lower use Ds...Ds will give someone with lower FA a full heal almost everytime...
