Yesterday I was messing around in the cantina in Anchorhead, with my alt (wookie with FA II only) and was trying to stop the bleeding on some guy, and it didnt work after 5 tries. Im assuming that (obviusly) this means it can fail, but I was getting xp everytime (35) so I thought it should be working. Anyone have any experience with this, or know the mecanics behind FA better.

First Aid does not fail. What you saw was why First Aid is useless in high end PvE, though it will be useful in PvP after the damage reduction. One application of First Aid stems 100 points of a bleed. If you get hit with a 700 point bleed, such as Mind Shot 2, it will take 7 applications of First Aid to stop the bleeding(if you are still alive). Nightsister Elders, which I believe are the toughest mobs in the game, hit you with a 4800 health bleed...so that would take 48 applications of First Aid.

ok, that makes sense, i was healing a guy today who had a 450 point bleed, but it took more than 5 applications to fix it, maybe its because im not maser medic yet.

hmm, I don't think it's exactly 100 per first aid because I saw a guy gt hit with a 500 or so bleed and after 3 first aids it was gone while it took me 5-6 to stop a 100 point bleed one time. Probably random amounts.

If you're fighting a Carbiner and he bleeds you.....be ready to die or something

I've had to apply FA 14 times to get rid of a bleed.
