I can't either, and while you're at it sometimes (maybe 1 of 100 times) I get the "you must have a player or creature targeted"... Umm... What does it think I'm shooting at?????? and of course, it always happens on a critical, emergency heal and I die or get incapped.

Could I have some details on this?

I just tried it.. and can heal myself....

...while using guns and fists.

are you hitting ctrl-1 to targetyuorself first?

If you are using special attacks... the heal will not go off until the combat queue is empty. Hit the "clear" button for it to go off faster.

Anyone else see this, or have any details that could help the devs find/fix it?

Like I said, it only happens once out of 100 or so applications, so I couldn't replicate it on demand either. As for CTRL+1, by time it gives me the message, I read it, hit CTRL+1, and apply meds again, I'm dead or incapped. The problem is that the mob is targeted but the game doesn't recognize it. And as for special attacks, once I start taking serious damage I don't use them for just this reason.

actualy not using special attacks will delay a heal even more. about the targeting issue:

if you set up a heal, the comand will check the target when it sets of, not when you trigger it. use "/healdamage self" to avoid this.

i have put up a broad list of explanations on how healing in combat works in the issue collection thread that Traigus sticked on top.

"For the medic correspondent, how about that the /healdamage macro accept another parameter, it can be the name of a player or for groups something like "/heald 1" "/heald 2", etc.... just do it well and design the funcionality so you don't loose your current target."

This should be working, according to the devs (old info though). You should be able to do "/healdamage charname". I've never done this, so I don't know if it actually works. I'm pretty sure Sal said this is supposed to work.

You can't do the other thing though (heal by group number).

ROFL. Another useful post. I'm sure they will get on that ASAP.

I've tried using /heald (charname) but it tends to only actually try to stim whomeverI have targeted (which is myself, if I have nobody targeted). *shrug*

just remember to /peace then /healdamage self. If you are in combat, sometimes the heal doesn't go off right away, and can take anywhere up to 3-4 combat rounds before it goes off.

I don't like the targetting system of swg. There is no way to target anything safely and when you are a medic grouped multiply it for 10, it's heal others or combat, but no both.

You can play with Ctrl+N (being N, 1,2,3,....) but with the medic actions not showing in the combat queue it's difficult to track what is happening, who are being healed, who are you shooting to, etc...

If you only want to heal yourself is easier, just do a macro like "/heald self" and it works great, except for the hasle of not showing in the combat queue, but you don't loose the target.

For the medic correspondent, how about that the /healdamage macro accept another parameter, it can be the name of a player or for groups something like "/heald 1" "/heald 2", etc.... just do it well and design the funcionality so you don't loose your current target. That way i could be targeting something, heal someone in my group without the problems of retargeting again in combat with is a bit problematic (atacking a lair while looking for another target for example.... yes sometimes i'm a bit clumsy).

The problem can be gotten around, ussually when you are attacking mobs if you hit the stim on the hotbar it will auto target you (even though you have a hostile targetted) when attacking a lair it does not do this, sometimes (rarely) it also won't work when targeting enemy mobs also. I haven't gotten around to a heal self macro yet, but I know I should, and sometimes this goes bad.

Some single player multi character games havetwo seperate targetting bars for seperate applications, one hostile one non-hostile. It think this would be very beneficial personally.
