Thread: WHat skills are best
I have 25 skill points for medic to use. I can learn first Aid 4, Diag 3, and Pharm 1, that was my plan until someone told me that it wasnt smart. I was wondering what skills you medics think are more important. I dont plan to make medicines so i guess this is only for those 3 categories.
So which skillswould make me the best medicpossible be at this point. And which Skills are relaively worthless
I would recommend this: 3,1,4,0
- 3 = First Aid
- 1 = Diagnostics (speed)
- 4 = Pharmacology
- 0 = Medicine Crafting
This will let you use Stimpack C's (Pharmacology 4) and use them pretty well (First Aid 3). Since you only have 2 points left over after this, and you stated you don't want to make meds, then throw the other 2 points into Diagnostics for a small speed increase.
However, if you went with 3,0,4,1 instead, then you would be able to make woundkit-A's, which would allow you to heal wounds when you're in a pinch.

And What skill helps the effectiveness of stopping bleeds, I have First Aid 3 but it still seems to take me like 10-15 First Aids to get it to go away.
My limited understanding of bleeding is that some critters cause a lot of bleed damage, say 1000 (often much more than that). However, First Aid (stop bleeding) only cures about 100 bleed damage per application.Thus, you would need to do 10 applications of First Aid to get the bleeding to stop outright.
Of course, if the patient has already taken 500 points of bleed damage, then you would only have 500 left to cure, or 5 applications of First Aid.

actually the way ath bleeding works is that it will always do the damage that it hit for until its duration expires or it is stopped...
so i u get hit by a 900 bleed, u need 9 application of FA until its stopped or it will tick for 900 until its duration goes...
but if u apply first aidand stop for 100 the next tick will do 800. and so on
