I"m a CH/pistoleer and I do lots of soloing.. I've got novice medic but able to level up. I think what I want is to be able to use better stimpacks ... but really not that knoweledgabel about the profession so perhaps I should be interested in something else. Anyway... what branch should I work on and why?

Get first aid this increases the amount you heal by, also give you a way to stop bleeding.

If you want to use higher stim-packs take the phar tree, however at novice medic you can use stim-kit Bs. to use stim-kit Cs you need a min of phar III, and then you need to search for stim-kit Cs that have been experminted on to decrease difficulty. To use normal stim-kits Cs you need phar IV.

When starting out the best way to gain XP is not to treat wounds, but go out with hunting parties and heal them while they fight. Doing a mixture of both is also good, of course!

Depending on your skills, you'll be able to get just under 100XP when you use a basic stimpack to heal someone - much better than the 30-40 you'll get from healing people in the med centre. Also, you'll be able to heal their damage faster than healing wounds.
