Medic Archive
Thread: I have a question for you doc's.
Hears the deal. I'm wanting to be a CH/rifleman. (even after said nerf/fixes/whatever. I just like animals. I breed snakes IRL so, it's more RP then power.)
Anyway, I was considering picking up medic skills for to reasons.
1.) I honestly belive a true CH should have a basic knowlage of vet medicain to true care for his animals. And a marskman should know basic first aid. (you have to expect you just *might* get hurt in a fire fight, so first aid is smart to know.)
2.) Down time. I left this game to play KOTOR for 3 weeks, and when i came back, my whole outlook had changed about this game. I no longer have the pacience i once had. I was a crafter, but, well, i just can't sit around crafting for endless hours anymore. (it was getting old beforeI left the game, guess i'm not cut out for crafting skills..) I hate sitting around waiting for my wounds/hp to recover. (less painful than crafting, but still annoying...)
So what do i need to know in the medic tree to make me effective. I don't really know much about medics. I've retooled my guy to be a CH (i'm pumping them for info too. lol), my rifle skills are already pretty good as is. (I first figured on making a toon sniper who crafted his own gun, with medic skills... but crafting is out now. So he's moved on to his grizzly adams persona of a hunter with a beast compaion.
) Now i have novice medictrained, and FA 1. As i see it, i'd much rather buy my meds. So i'm not intrested in OC at all. So of the 3 skill left, which is most important? What lvl should i strive for to use effective meds, and in which tree? Any help is much appreactied!
King Snake.
Well since you want to buy meds first off tell me are you on Flurry server? I can make em for you.
Seriously though, if you're looking for mainly healing yourself and then your creature focus on First Aid and Pharmacology. First Aid for the increase in the amount of damage you heal, and Pharmacology for your med use. With Pharmacology 3 you can use experimented Stim-C's. (Which will help you out a lot vs. B's. Though they will need to be experimented down to med use 30).
Now I might have gotten First Aid mixed up with Diagnostics, but basically you're just going to want to go for med use and bonuses to damage healing.
diagnostics is a waste if your looking to spend the minimal points. it's time reduction is minimal at best.
personally i split first aid and pharamcology evenly upping pharma 1st to get the bigger packs vs healing for slightly more with the smallers (first aid).
before i decided to go combat medic i worked oc simply to reduce pack space. carrying 1 stack of each material needed to make class B stims. ( metal water chemical organic) and a couple of crafting tools i can make a heck of alot more packs than i will ever need on a given trip. also when you powerskilling which it sounds like you will need to do if your looking at it solely for a solo downtime reducer ( since you dont get medical exp healing yourself) the ablity to make packs while healing is invaluable. you might want to work oc at least untill you get your medical skills to the point you are happy with them then surrender the skill when you need to points to learn something else.
if you make packs as you need them your oc will naturally raisefaster than your ability to use the packs( by the time i had enoughxp for novice combat medic i had enough crafting exp to immediatly learn the 1st level ofcombat crafting.
i craftb packs when i start running low on C-s in the feild ( unless i feel like breaking out the droid) but i do it while im waiting on my mind pool or while im running fromwp to wp.
but then again dont let me dissuade you from visiting myvendor and buying all the b and c packs you want.
for the most part if your just looking to cut your downtime class b packs will work just fine. if your healing others you want to move to the bigger packs.
