Hey everyone, I was wondering how it is possible my friend who is noviced medic with only first aid 4 and diag 1 boxes filled, is using stim c's.

His medicine use is listed at only +5, and whenever I try and use Stim C's on my character it says I need medicine use +30.

How is it possible he is using Stim C's?

I would like to know the answer to this question, as I am a Master Medic, and I STILL am not able to use Stim-C's given to me by other medics sometimes.

Weird. You're correct that Stim C's generally require30+ Medicine Use (Pharmacology 4, I think?), to use. As for how your friend is using one with only a 5, the only explanations I can think of are...

1) He's using a Stim C that had been heavily experimented on for Ease of Use. However, I'm not even sure it's possible to experiment a Stim C down to requiring only 5 in Medicine Use. Have him Examine the Stim and look at its skill requirement.

2) He's not really using a Stim C. a) If he's using it by typing /healdamage, that command might be activating a different Stim he has on him. Have him try using the Stim C by clicking on it and using the radial menu to activate it. b) Alternately, maybe he bought a Stim B from ascammer who renamed it as "Stimpack C."

3) He has higher levels of Pharmacology than he thinks, or is letting on.

4)Bug.

Does anyone know of another possible explanation?

lol remember u can rename stuff so actually i ahve seen stim Bs labelled as stim C and tagged with a huge price tag on the bazaar...It was like called novice medic Stim C. Lol the thing was it was a stim B with really poor heal value and charge...and it had like a 1000 credit price

most people are so ignorant about medicines people would actually buy this thinking its a stim C...

so dont go by the label on a stim that can be changed....

I have master chemist and ive used 990+ mall and 900+ conductivity and 990+ overall metal for a stim C and used all the points i could on ease of use, I could only use 7 points and lowered it to about 24 med use...

so novice stim C is impossible...

He's using a mislabeled stim or pulling ur leg...

Either it is a bug or Elenora hit the nail on the head. He is using a Stim-B that someone has named Stim-C and jacked the price up on. Ask him what the healing power and original charges on it were.

Fabbie covered pretty much everything. Unlike buying deeds, if you really try you can tell exactly what kind of stimpack you are buying off of the market. Always examine stimpacks before you buy them! You might pay 600 credits for a stimpack B that was never even experimented on.

personally i label all my stims nowadays using a standard format.

Stim - B (215/23)

this way the buyer has to only glance at the item name to quickly determine the stim/stats.

plus it shows up in the inventory broken into 2 lines

Stim - C

(215/23)

nice and tidy and easy to id in your backpack quickly.

but this is just me, and a few other docs on chilastra using this format. i dont claim this as my own idea, just a suggestion by someone else to be fair when selling meds on the bazaar.

Assuming your friends aren't lying, they may be using skill enhancements that give +medicine use.

hmm so if you put on alot of + med use clothes, you could actually use c or d stims or possibly higher med kits during your fight or camp time?

so your just gonna kill the lower medics who use C stims or C med kits if a non medic class just loads up on clothing during camp time to heal his/her own wounds?

this is not an issue since u still have to get novice medic for /healdamage and /healwound to get to be able to use any packs...

thre is a bigger issue with ranged stims and read my thread if posted on all 3 of the medic boards about the possiblity of exploiting the +skill enhancements

Well I just finished making 2 crates of Stim-Cs (30 Med use) for somebody that only has novice medic and they can use them. Here is how:

They have 2 pieces of clothes that each gives +13 med use, +13 wound treatment, +13 injury treatment.

Hence they get 5+13+13=31 Med use skill having only novice medic.

He showed me the pieces of clothes in the trade window so I can definitely vouch that they exist.

Now here is a tought. Get 3 pieces of clothes like that and you can use stim-Es (they come out 47 skill for me 1000ish base heal) as a novice medic. Now thats a thought to ponder.
