Who do you think I was referring to?

Nobody ever admits to knowing me, I think I may have the plague or something... thought it musta been in reference to someone else.

-----------

Factories are supposed to give XP (1/10 normal). But they get broken on and off. Factory and usage Xp (if someone else uses your meds or components)... are coded so that they can take hours to show up (when they are working).

If you are on the same server as your factory, or the person using the med it often showes up faster (which is how the rumor that you had to sit next to your factory got started (the delay could be huge otherwise), except for that one time when it was really broken and you could only get XP by sitting next to your factory... because there is always one time...)

I went LD on the Yavin trip (my cable went out)... and was told I did not have a SWG acct. when I tried to log in... blegh. Got back in 3 hours later..

I think I made it 2 hills past the outpost before I crashed out. =/

I never joined the IGHA.

On that Yavin 4 trip after the woolamander temple me and Timzai headed for the far southeast corner of the map. Then we ran all the way back along the beach to the outpost.

We were on footmaybe 12km from the outpost with no buffs or maskscent and in those daysyou left a corpse on death. So dying would have meant losing everything. Just had to make sure someone stayed alive to rez. It took a few hours to get back to the outpost -- we took turns leading with the other person on /follow and went through several in-game days and nights! The views were amazing though, sparkling ocean, sandy beach and Yavin the gas giant filling the whole horizon.

Timzai vowed he would have a house on Yavin (tough luck on that). I vowed I would never go back until they introduced landspeeders Mounts came first so Idid 360 degrees around Yavin on a kaadu a few weeks ago!

Well, I came back to SWG after two months away. Decided I felt more at home in this game despite its glaring flaws.

I notice the star rating of the initial post has dropped from 5 to 3. Is this just because people hateTale or Texxie? Or is the guide in dire need of an update? I've been thinking of writing a doctor guide thatcovers PvP raiding tactics and high-end crafting but I'll go back and revise the medic guide if it would help.

That's just cause the resident forum asshats like to go around 1-starring helpful posts.

You can turn off the star rating system alltogether in the forum options. I don't think all that much has changed in the medic profession, certainly not in the 2 months you were away.

Welcome back, by the way.

If I could add a couple things .. apologies if either has been mentioned before

If you're grinding OrgChem, besides the usual tricks of running 5 or 6 crafting tools etc, move all the resources except what youintend to usefor your grind object out of your main inventory so as to reduce the clutter in the crafting window. Additionally (and this is a HUGE help) set your Windows mouse driver to interpret a middle-click as a double-click, so you only have to single-middle-click each resource to load it into the tool.

Another place I've found to get some med XP (and a real chance to help someone starting out!), and this is at about the same level as working the cantinas, is to drive around outside the city walls of Mos Eisley looking for n00b combat-types taking on therillsandlesser womp ratswith their shiny-newalmost-uselessCDEF. They take a lot of damage at first, and really appreciate someone stepping in with healsto help them not get incapped while they level those first couplecombat skill boxs.

Sweet jebes I wish I had read this weeks ago.

For the life of me I could not figure out why I could not heal anyone. Of course, the "No valid medicine found" message could have been a clue.

Yeah, just another of my "D'oh!" moments.
