Medic Archive

I'm creating a new doctor/CM character on a different server and this time would like to go imperial. I'd have to go human unless I wanted to pay double for faction perks, and I would want faction pets. What are the max stats for mind/will/focus for human, I can't seem to find them anywhere. Are they high enough to make a good healer?

High-level doctor buffs put your Health and Action bars uparound 2k-3k and Zabraks' Equilibrium ability redistributes your remaining HAM points evenly between the three bars. This effectively turns Equilibrium into a complete heal for the Mind bar, once per hour. And that's on top of having the fastest Mind regeneration (Willpower) of any race. When you are talking the only unhealable pool (and the one that medics rely onto performheals)that's a pretty significant advantage.

Personally, I wanted to be human and so far I have been very happy with my stats. I don't know if there is a "best" race, but a lot of good things have been pointed out for several of the races. Humans have pretty balanced stats which I personally like for what I do with my character.

Twi'lek, Translizards,Rodians and Bothans really don't make the best doctor classes. I play a Twi'lek doctor, and you can only migrate to 500 max Focus/Will. (And the race is described as "Intellegent" -- psshhaw.)

It's definitely workable, but I find the mind regen problems sometimes quite limiting, especially if you want to be a rifleman.

I throughly second that Twi'leks have issues being a medic. I just started one on Bria and I'm going to have to switch races just because they can't migrate their stats past 500 for focus and willpower. Sitting around for 5 mins healing mind is not fun. Seriously, Twi'leks are good for two things: dancing and looking good. Other than that, be a human, Zabrak, wookiee, or Sullustaan because mind is the most important stat in this game.
