Sat in Corronet med center for 1 and a half hours the other day got three patients used up two brandy's and i got "thxs" from 2 of them.
So to make money to run my harvesters etc i have to leave and do missions ergo nobody at med center when you need them.
It's not like that every day but enough to make it difficult.

Spam is not the best answer. I'd be pissed if I was a patient, having to listen to my doctor ask for tips every 10 seconds. I would most likely put him on ignore, like I would do with starport advertisers and beggar entertainers.

Well, the 10 seconds was just an example. The point was that sometimes folks need to be reminded that medics pay for their woundpacks that they use on patients. Folks seem to have gotten used to all the medics/novice docs running around healing wounds for xp and not bothering with a tip.

I miss hanging out and healing people in the med centers so bad -- back when people actually came there forthe purpose that was intended for them, lol. That's why I got into Doc: I had such a blast goofing around in there and playing the doctor-role. We evenhad regulars and were invited out on hunting expeditions and everything... the social aspect of the profession was great, but all this stuff you guys have been talking about has indeed killed all that.
Hopefully the CU will revitalize this a little, since maybe the importance on health and the lack of strong buffs will cause more people to seek healers out in med centers to keep the wounds down, because there are many people like me who loved and miss playing the hospital-campsite Doctor and would be OVERJOYED to seeit return.

I got tired of spending 2 hours looking for a medic to heal my wounds, so I went proactive, started offering large sums of money and traveling to where the medic was, normally to get told 'nah not worth it' (10k to heal my wounds? not worth it?)
SO, long story short I picked up novice medic, after dropping some other skills. No I spend an hour or so each day in c'net healing other peoples wounds, I used to do it for free, but got ignored a lot, and frankly being treated like a 'bot when you obviously there got to me. So now I sit in place and advertise that for 2k I will heal all your wounds - weirdly I get more conversation form my patients and even people asking me why I do it so cheap.
Sometimes I figure I will never understand players

Used to be that there would always be at least 15-20 in med center in cornet now you will be lucky if you see 5, so much for having good conversations with ppl there. Glad I have TKM now so i can heal my own wounds.

I have the exact opposite problem here on Tempest.I make the effortto go around to nearly all the major cities medical centerswith my Master Doctorto heal and help people and all I see 99% of thetime is an empty medical center or on occasion a person or two tumbling anda few othersgaining XP from it. I even register my location (if available) and shout out now and then that I am healingor training if needed but I very rarely get a response or see anyone. Since my income is from otherprofessions that I have mastered,Idon'teven charge for healing as I considerthismy way ofassisting my fellow Tempest players. In spite of this it'sstill rare for me to findsomeone whowants medical help.
I would also like tosay thatI have never sold buffs and I refuse to be a buff vendor. Truely playing a Doctoris much more than standing at a starport and shouting repeatedly that you're selling buffs.Maybe theCU will change the methodsplayers use to seek medical help.Who knows, I suppose we will have to wait and see.

If I am not mistaken players will be able to heal health damage not wounds with their new stim packs in the CU. I would also assume that medics and doctors would be able to more efficently use stim packs on themselves as well as others. If this is the case than medics and doctors would still be sought after for advanced healing. Thunderheart has stated that next week more details will be released on the CU so hopefullymore questions will at least be partiallyanswered.

I just hope novice medics are due a rude awakening when the no-skill medkit is available to everyone playing the game. You think people don't tip now? How much do you think people are going to tip you when they know in the back of their minds they can buy a med kit and heal themselves?
This isn't a flame by the way. It's just a kernel for thought. I've been thinking how this simple no skill component is going to impact the medic/doctor profession for sometime now. It genuinely worries me.

Well if the Dev's would do it, it would be nice to be able to heal in the cantina, so the players that need to be healed can get both battle fatigue and wounds taken care of at the same time. Just a thought...
When I was grinding TKA/Marksman and couldn't heal myself.. If I couldn't find a medic I would do a search to see who was on line and send them a tell to see if they could heal me, 9 times out of ten they said absolutely no problems meet me here. If I had the credits they would get one heck of a good tip as a thanks for going out of their way for me.
But with the CU catastrophe in the works in the foreseeable future, you will be able to heal yourself so there is no need for doc's or Medics... ok well if you die, they can res you.. ok I'm stopping there before I got into a fury of rants... I'm going to enjoy this game until the update, and then just find something else to amuse me. Maybe EQII deserves a try, found it at the store for $29.00 the other day.
