Thread: A manufacturer asks: How good are these stimpacks, and what would you pay?
Hmm.. so a B is the same as a C, but it takes 4 less resources? That seems silly. Of course I haven't played medic since beta when a Stim A took 3 single units
Thanks. I guess if I want to sell to a broad audience, Bs are the way to go.
I sold a crate of 20 of my C's last night to a medic for 10k. He didn't really even want to pay that much I think, but he needed them and liked having a crate.
You guys are underpricing. A fully advanced Stim-B uses 148 resources, so I would take 1480 credits to be a minimum price. The resources are scattered and sell for as much as 10c/per on the baazar.
My best Stim-B so far has been 374 heal and 32 charges. I sell them on Dantooine for 3000 credits each (seriously, I sell out every time I put them up there, selling 25 of them in 4- 48 hours depending on competition... another guy sells his for 1600 but he always runs out and people are forced to either buy mine or go without!)
On my vendor I price them for 1900. Selling is a lot slower there (they have to come to me) but I do sell a crate of 20 here and there, and I price my crates at around 1700-1800 per stimpack in the crate. Still talking about advanced stim-B's here.
Stim-C and D's I only charge a little extra for. The market for these isn't as big and they don't take up that many more resource. I've put some revive packs up for 10000 credits each (17 charges) but I'm actually not sure what the going rate is for those -- I figure I can charge a bundle because getting the revive skill is a hell of a lot easier than getting the ability to make the kits.
Now that factories work, I might have to lower my prices, as I expect there will be more competition soon.
The advice about getting the materials for Advanced Liquid Suspensions is good,it's by far the best component for boosting the power of the stim. Talusian water is dead easy to get, and if you don't want to risk your neck on dantooine you should be able to find a bulk retailer who will sell berries for 4 credits per unit or less (might vary depending on server, but a reputable resource miner on Kettemoor charges 3.5).
To guage pricing, I go to the bazaar in a few towns with a handful of stimpaks and put them up for sale at prices starting at about 600 and working up by 100s (so one each at 600, 700, 800, etc.). I then watch to see how fast they sell. Strangely, the cheapest ones are notalways the ones that sell first.Anyway, I then sell more at the highest prices that sold in an acceptable amount of time. It's a nice system because even if you overprice a few stims you'll still make money off the lower priced stims, so you don't end up eating a bunch of bazaar costs for nothing.
