Thread: Zarlor, having normal stims heal all 3 pools is a bad idea.

Heal mind should only be given to Master Doctors and Master Combat Medics. People would become invicible in PvE if they had pharmacology 4 to use 866 base stim D's. Battles in PvP would last forever. There would be no way to kill someone unless dizzy/knockdown was used since they are nerfing delay attacks. There is also little purpose to having 3 pools if they are all easily healed.

Sometime soon, special attacks will not damage HAM when you use them. A separate set of pools will be created. Mind heal will be ok then, because healing will be done from this new second mind pool (for specials only) with a different regen. So healing will still be limited, while mind that makes you incap could be healed.

The devs have not officially stated that mind heal will be put back in, only that is could probably be.

Another question, if you dont mind. Could Doctors and Combat Medics be given the ability to heal the special move bars?

Likely not. I don;t think it will, anyway.

And T is right, I try to state when discussing mind healing that it is simply my conjecture on what I think would likely happen with the combat revamp.

The greater question you pose, though, is combat duration. I think the design team wants PvP combat to last longer. To be more strategic. As it is folks just spam specials. That is how attacks are performed. The revamp looks to place an emphasis on specials as being something special. You won;t be killing yourself by performing specials any longer, but you won't be able to do as many specials without having to draw back until you can regen your bar enough to engage again. Adding an easily accessible mind heal into the mix (such as putting it right back into stims) plays into that methodology just fine, I think, and was, in fact, the original intention for stims back in Beta.

I suspect there will need to be a few tweaks here and there to get the "feel" of it right, though. So that may be something we will have to deal with (if they decide the tweaks need to be in the healing or, for Docs, buffing side of things.)

The special bars would be unhealable I think. Though a Squad leader skill to have them regen faster would be cool...

BTW, this is not to say I don't want mind healing, just to be clear it wasn't promised.

Wounds are going to play a much larger role in combat.

I knew it. They want Combat Medic to be a super class. I am lucky that my alt character is one. They are powerful enough as it is and need no boosting or nerfing. Without delay attacks and special attacks from other classes, cm will be unstoppable.

Wait a minute! Will we still be able to do the same amount of damage without special attacks? Are they beefing up the damage and granting more variety to normal attacks? Lol, I can see it now. Two fighters in 80% composite armor hitting each other with the default attack over and over again and 30 minutes later no one is incapped because stims can heal 3 pools.

Wow, this board must be dead if the Medic, Doctor, Combat Medic, and former Combat Medic correspondents reply to this one message.

Actually, we just don;t know yet what will happen with the combat revamp and how they will be doing things in that respect. We'll just have to see. In reality it is possible that Commandos and CMs will have a certain level of notereity simply because of their ability to deliver wounds (although for a CM those wounds only tick off like every 40 seconds...)

And yeah, this board is pretty low on traffic.
