Thread: First Aid 4 or Pharm 4?

I'm a Master Swordsman / Brawler but I want some Medic in my template. I'm trying to decide if I should take up the First Aid tree or the Pharm tree. With First Aid I'll be able to stop bleeding and get a 75% bonus to heal when I use Stim B's, though B's are the best I could use. Or I can take up the Pharm tree and be able to use Stim C's. My question is this, which tree would be more worthwhile? Could I heal more with a Stim B and a 75% increase from Injury Treatment, or will Stim C's be able to heal more?

Pharm 3 with first aid 2


600+ power stim Cs with first aid skill...the way to go


Edit: Any crafting Doc worth their salt can make 600 power stim Cs with a med use of 30...possibly without having to experiment on ease of use. 800+ stim Ds with a med use of 40 are also easily made if the crafter knows what they are doing.

I'd say pharm 4 for the uber stims, it can heal a fully buffed person to the max.

I have to agree with Pahd, 2030 is the way to go. If you're only looking for better damage healing, then Pharm 4 is far better than FA 4.With Pharm 4, you can even use experimentedstim E's that are rated to heal for 1000 or so. Whatever way you go, look for a good master doc crafter.

My recommendation is that you drop half of your melee professions and become a CM.

I have 4-3-x-x in medic

And with Stim B's i can completly heal anyone, even if they're buffed with a stim B i can heal as much as 900 points.

Pharm 4. You can use lots better stims. 0040 is the way to go if you can't afford to do the rest.

This really boils down to the availability of Stim C and Stim D (with lowered Medicine Use) on your server.


If you don't have any Doctors on your server that regularly stock a vendor with Stim C (MU 30) and/or Stim D (MU 40), then you should go with First Aid 4 for the Injury Treatment to improve the power of your Stim B. Also, if you place great value on the ability to stop bleeding (First Aid 2) and do a fast HAM heal with no stim (First Aid 4), then First Aid 4 with Stim B is probablythe way to go.


On the other hand, if you have a reliable place to obtain Stim C (MU 30) and Stim D (MU 40) then going with Pharmacology 4 for the 40 Medicine Use will let you heal much much more; a quality Stim D (MU 40) with your paltry +5 Injury Treatment will probably heal for around 1000-1500 damage, compared to the +700 or so you'll heal with Stim B and +75 Injury Treatment. Also, you could take Pharmacology 3 to get Medicine Use 30 which would allow you to use Stim C (MU 30), then spend those last 5 points on First Aid 1 and 2, which would improve the power of your Stim C (MU 30) as well as letting you stop bleeding (First Aid 2).


Many choices you have. Choose, you must.

I'm TKM, M.Pikeman, M.Brawler, with 4.0.0.0 Medic. (which leaves points for fs skills)


Fully buffed with some good brandy, all I need is Quickheal(FirstAid4), and I rarely need it.


Quickheal heals 400 to 1000. Adds 10 wounds to focus and willpower but the brandy covers that. The brandy and meditate in my case.

you all are all wrong, go into a cantina, and heal any entertainer that needs it. then advance up pharm branch. When u can use stim d's then work your way up the first aid, that's what i did, now i'm ch, pikeman, rifleman, scout, and best of all, medic 4240, and i'm happy w/ it!
