After playing over the weekend and now reading today about all the changes and researching what I couldn't figure out...

WOUNDS?

What do you do about healing your wounds and wounds of friends in small hunting groups? I used to be able to do it slowly with a few medic skills. Now that wound healing takes a novice doctor, how are small (2-3) groups of friends gonna heal their wounds? Playing on a light server like Shadowfire there is NO doctors in med centers to help out! NONE... NO ONE! What do you do? Sit in a med center and chat for hours at a time while it auto heals? I sat with a friend for an hour last night that had 200 wounds, finally a tka with novice doc came in and healed about 150 wounds in a few seconds. This was Coronet med center too, center of swg galaxy, we even tried Mos Eisley, still no one. Do they expect one person to bite the bullet and get novice doctor just to heal their friends? I'm not big into the group hunting thing, just like playing with my friends. Also if you have to be in the field to get med xp, what are med centers for anyway? Just put the trainers in front of the starports and put a closed sign on the med ceter door, "Closed till we need it again!"

Solution : Wound healing droids in the medical centers. You walk up, it diagnoses your wounds, gives you a price, and BAMMO your wounds are healed, maybe after a short wait of a minute or two. This would allow light servers and late night players to get wound healing without taking a hour or two nap in a med center. Also another problem with waiting is the auto-log-out feature. Does that still happen? I know that if you didn't do anything for around 15 minutes you would be logged out to character select screen. Then you had to end game and restart cause it wouldn't let you log back in, but that is a problem for another day. Today it's Wounds, Wounds, Wounds... What do you do? What's our solution?

I posted hear because I figured medics were asking themselves the same questions. That is, of course, unless my blondness is showing and their is a simple little something I am missing! LOL Does any one know a solution?

What's your deal, Grifter? GEEZ! What, do you want us all to wait until our wounds take up half of our health bar THEN go hang around the medical center and STILL no one be there? Is that it? Oh boy, what a fun game THAT makes.

Whatever. Horrah for your intelligence.

I think it's completely crazy to have only doctors be able to heal wounds.It just is. It takes a lot of fun out of the game while you run around screaming, "Is there a doctor here that can heal me?!?!?" I think having a bot at the med. center is a great idea. I just hate when I'm in a group, wanting to go on a mission, but I can't because we are hanging around the medical center just praying a doctor will sign on. There's even been times where my entire playing session is nothing but sitting around the medical center waiting.

whoopie.

I think something needs to be done and done quickly. I know Sony wants to make SWG more of a group-playing game, but this is NOT the way to do it.

Yeah I hear you. I have 3 characters on 3 different servers. I made sure they ALL picked up Novice Medic with like 2113 just to be able to self heal my wounds and be the lone wolf I like to be. Now I have to be a Novice Doctor just to heal wounds eh? I HATE the idea of sacrificing combat and whatever weapon XP im grinding in the field while I solo just to auto bacta shot once in a while to grind Med XP. But If I must..then I must.

To be honest, deal with it.
Doc is a broken profession currently thanks to CU, and wound healing is about the only thing left worth having doc. Buffs dont cut the pie, CM and jedi healing is superior, crafting is gone.
Find a doc and be sure to tip a lot for your wound heals if you want to find one again. And look at the doc forums and support them in making their prof valueable again.

To be honest, i could deal with it if this game wouldn't be such a buggy sh... all over the way.

You get easy 1k-2k wounds in space dieing once but ending in a "destroy loop".

You get easy wounds on planets because you are not able to clone even if you want, getting messages like

"you could not see the terminal" even if you stand in front of it (also a long known issue).

And last but not least ... this player driven community sh... is nice as long as there is a community.

But after the CU i don't see much medics hanging around.

For me hanging around in med center isn't an option - downtime is one thing but chicane is another.

(prolly, the sad thing is itshows just again ... "first do it then think about the consequenses")

Its very easy to solve. Put up NPC's which can heal wounds or to make the "player driven community fanboys" happy

put up player made wound healing kits ...

Oooh, how about... No.

While we're at it, let's have:
Entertainer Droids,
Weaponsmith Droids;
Armoursmith Droids;
Tailor Droids;
Architect Droids;

The list goes on. How about SOE actually fixing the profession to make it worthwhile outside of 4000.

Be honest, how often did we ever get paid for our services as medics?As much as I enjoyed playing a medic and as nice as everyone I healed was (and is) it was never going to pay well. If a wound-healing medic bot is all we can have, then that's fine but I expect a big discount for those of us whodecided to remain asmedics of whatever flavour. Iwould rather pay for arobotthan run around trying to find a Doc, sitting in a med centre or camping for hours on end.

The CU made a joke of all the hours I put into playing SWG and laughed in my face when I arrived on Kashyyyk because I couldn't even hit a Krrytch let alone those Ro-Roos which are levels 17 and 18 to mymedically certifiedweakling.

I can't even use the Stim CsI made because, get this, my combat level is too low! Oh well at least they gave us healing "powers" because we sure can't afford to buy any medicines and we can't craft our own medicines because we need the points to put towards a combat prof. so we can survive for long enough to get a few XP before we are aggro'ed when we try to heal another player in battle.

There isn't any point in remaining MM any more. CM looks good but it seems you have to buy stuff or become a BE in order to be effective. Doc appeals to me but a good look through their part of this forum shows just how fed up they are.

I liked wandering around and healing people. I didn't mind being asked and I didn't mind being diverted from a mission to pop into a med centre just to help someone. I still do the same thing whether I'm trying out CM or Doc for the day. It seems SOE didn't like our attitudes... SOE want us to play with others and hit things instead of helping people.
