I just put JTL on my alt tonight. For whatever reason, I cannot find Weapon/Engine overload three chips for sale so I figured I'd have my master doc fly for the empire. I'm not entirely certain when, possibly from the very first contact with the Lt. in Bestine, I aquired an Empire TEF. I assumed it was a temp tef until having powered my way to 1101 and calling it for awhile to do some crafting, I checked, and thirty minutes later I still had an empire TEF. At no time did the recruiter give me an option to go from overt to covert. And talking to other Impire NPC's got me the 'I don't talk to those who don't yada yada" speech.

So...I logged out. And hope that in a short while...the tef will disappear.

Has anyone else got experience with this? Is this a known bug? Please note, this has nothing to do with the Deep Space bug I'm aware of..

All three accounts canceled as of January 2006.

After your foruth mission with any of the factional Pilot trainers (Reb or Imp), what should happen is that you become a covert member of that faction. It is an easy way to quickly join the faction.

If you had a TEF and were attackable, I haven't a clue why this happened to you. /bug it and hope that a CSR will respond with some help.

Well past the fourth mission, and I still have TEF. I submitted a ticket, maybe they will know.
