Is there a detailed walkthough about how to Mine in space? I need to know EXACTLY how to get the materials into the hold I just installed. I got the First Mining Laser and the Small Hold, but I don't know how to check and see if anything is goin in there. I read just a few minutes ago how to unload the thing, but I'm not at my game computer till in the morning.

I'm after the Y-8 ( even though I know it's bugged. If I can't find a work around, then the ship won't be the only thing bugged, LOL. The CRS's will. {JK}). I need all the details I can get. I'm gonna try to do a Walkthrough myself with the workaround and all the buggs, etc, IF I can get it done.

how to mine:

1): Find a mineabel astroide.

2) Shoot at the mineabel astroide.

3) Stop shooting when a big rock chunk comes out of it (can appear ontop or below of it, so rember to keep some 500m distance to have a full view).

4) Either Target or just blast away on the medium sized rock - with a I mining lazer i may take some time before you shoot the medium rock in to small pices

5) Now you got somewhere between 2-7 or more, smaller rocks floating or rather flying around. Either target or just blast away with your mining I lazer, once you "Kill" a smaller rock, the content of it will automaticly be placed in your cargo hold.

6) AFAIR: its not posible to check what you have in the cargo hold when in space, i would recommend to stick with 1 mineabel astroide at the time. - on the ground, use ctrl + d and check the ship via the radial menu, either use the "unload cargo" or "Examine cargohold"

7) Once you can, get the quest mk II mining lazer, Beamer and a playermade large cargo hold for star fighters (1550 units, a 550 unit increase from the quest givned cargo hold) instead of shooting the smaller sized rocks (see point 5) use the beamer instead as you will notice a large increase in mining output - with some training, you can do things relative fast compared to just blasting away - this however may "only" work with a starfighter (3 weapon slot fighter would be the best, issue weapon to nr 1 weapon slot incase you get attacked)

8) Get plenty of coffey - it can be very borring to mine 10K units.

9) Do not! delete any strange rock(s) looking items you may be getting in your invt.from your space mining as they are useabel and could get you a large amount of credits.

10) Selling the goods, there are some servers/players who are more then willing to buy the space res for an rather high price then thoese NPC stations - check your trading forum for more info.
