Then the only thing i can think of that is not griefing lower pilots is that he was amassing ship parts for a shipwright friend of his. I do this too...

If that's the case, why not take them into Kashyyyk space, or deep space, or some other high end npc place? I took my wife up in my TIE aggressor, into Kashyyyk space, and she leveled her last two Tier 2 boxes in a pretty short amount of time. Also, since they're grouped, the xp would be split, so nailing low level spawns would net a very small gain in xp.

btw if anyone on flurry server wants to grind tier 4s and gain rebel faction send me a mail saying "I WANT THE LOCATION TO THE FACTION FARM."

You must be declared imp in space for this to work.

Duty missions kinda negate the idea of camping low level spawns for EXP as being fully inethical.

Parts, on the other hand...

"There's no sensation quite like learning to fly. Tounge-tied and twisted, just an earth-bound misfit, I." -Pink Floyd
"One/two shot PvP is good because this is a game of EVASION. NOT ABSORBTION" - Big mean heartbreaker.
"Sod implementing anything half-decent, we have SWG to make! OLOL!"
"We already have expertise in space. It's called a brain." - Leaph.

If your not helping out some newbie theres still enough of a reason to kill spawns, of ANY LEVEL.

Main reasons is for Parts for REing.. Just because hes ace, doesnt mean hes not after the loot. Some of the best loot is acutaly a lvl 2 capacitor with high energy or high recharge.

Also keep in mind that all you have to do is damage the mob, you dont have to kill it to get full xp. You wont get the loot, but you still get the xp. A smart newbie might try to skim xp off a part farmer. Meaning hit all the mobs once and let the bozo in the krayt do the rest.

High level pilots will camp a tier3 spawn because thats the level that has the best chance at L6 engines, among other parts at or near that level. If you're truly just there for xps, then you have not much to worry over, you can get your shots in and get full xps. If you're mad because you're really there for xps plus loot, well then you have choices. Get a Duty so the targets are truly yours, or find another spawn, there are many many of them.

I've recently decided it was time to get one of my alts up to speed in space, so I began the task of taking small 15-20 minute runs into space to earn xp when I found some free time. Several times this past week or so, I have found ace pilots sitting in fully decked out krayts camping tier 2 and 3 spawns, blowing them away in a few hits, over and over and over while myself and other lower level pilots could just look on.

Just wondering if this is the new accepted behavior and I should just go away and hope next time I might be able to get some xp? Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I think I would feel pretty bad camping the junk yards of mos eisley while the newer players tried to level up.

Are you sure these aren't aces helping out lower tiered pilots? As far as I know, there's no reason or reward for aces to do this on their own, but I could be wrong (I'm not an ace yet). They might also be farming space loot for REing to better equipment for guild mates, as well. Of course, it could also be nothing more than simple griefing, lol

Yea, single player actually stopped in space blowing away the spawns as they appeared in front of him. I can even understand looking for loot and things, but when you have a couple of lower level guys show up and you just kill things before they can even target them, I just think that is pretty low.

The Krayt has slots for two people. An ace prolly brought a low-level person up and had him do the killing through the turret, that way the lesser experienced player gets xp. I do this all the time with my decimator, allowing the newer people in my guild to train

Yea, I thought about this the first time I experienced this, but this guy was only using the pilot guns to kill, no turret fire whatsoever.

If he's just sitting in one spot, that sounds like the Evil Tyrant spawn. Just take a duty mission. You'll get lots of enemies and they're just for you. They may seem easy at first, but they get harder as you go along.

There is. Loot for cash or reverse engineering.

I usually camp the Kimo Spawn (And other spawnz)in endor this way to get loot BUT I allways make it a point, if i am not alone at the spawn, to only down the ships that have allready been "tagged" by the noobs in my near proximity, I only need one hit per ship anyway

Hence the noobs get the exp... i get the loot and therefor RE´d equipment which in turn I again spread amongst the needing... (There´s quite a few people out there that got good RE´d quip from me without charge ). Also im there often, grinding a noob through the first 2 tiers or the 4th... but then im usually in a MP ship with the noobz on the gunz.
