Heya, as a beta tester, i originally thought that rebel ships were truly gonna wipe out ties and ourImperial ships cuz of how they portrayed it in the movies.
However, During beta, I found that The Decimator, was a buetiful ship, in the interior and the exterior, and i thinkJUST FOR THATyou should go imp cuz of justof the Amazingsetup. Also, THe Decimator is ULTRA powerful compared to the other ships. The other good thing is, if you arent grouped or just wanna go solo, The Opressor is a hell of ship by itself. Its power and manuverablility is amazing, and with the appropriate weapons, you can rule all. The Decimator is In the middle withthe amount of space you are given, its like perfect for me, not too big, not too small, perfect. The Decimator is really armored too and, from other threads you can see the cockpit is like the best out of all. A really cool sunroof and a long curved window that you can see like at a 200-270 degree angle is given to you also with the Decimator in the Cockpit.
And there is a room that has a really cool Tie-Window that looks at the front, and its great seeign you friends shoot and you see ships coming tword you from there..
The Decimator is a real sweet ship.. annd scince i was a beta tester, here are a few goals to reach your Imperial Ace Skill:
From Novice To Master
#1. Get your Starter ship and novice Imp Pilot, fly around and get the feel of JTL , and dont even bother doing your first mission. ASAP, Throw your Startership away, And buy a player made TIE LIGHTDUTY FIGHTER, and get all the components Necessary ( Like MARK 1's, And your weopons would be the light blaster, distruptor, or that other light one, forget. Also, get a MARK 1 proton Launcher, and Mark 1 Proton Missle Packs) and load em all up in your tie lightduty. By doing this you get a few advantages. First off, you get a hyperdrive. The starter ship doesnt let you go to hyperdrive, so when you pick your system for your missions you would be stuck there for the rest of your 4 missions. The hyperdrive will then let you go to like different systems that have more selection of enemies to kill for easy exp. So Then, Load Up all your MARK 1 components and put it in your Lightduty at the starship.
#2 Do all Tier 1 missions so you can get some skills! You wont be able to do the tier 2 missions until you get 1/1/1/1. ( And During your mission period, you cant train skills, well maybe you can, forget, but not for #1 tier missions.)
#3 Once you get 1/1/1/1, Get a Regular Tie Fighter Chassis, and Then Get All MARK 2 components, and get a mid-grade distruptor, blaster, or w/e, and get a Mark 2 Proton Missle Launcher And Mark 2 Proton Missle Packs(Rememer Now that you got your lvl 2 & 3 component certifications, so you are now qualified for other missle packs, so use which ever missles you are qualified to use and which you think is the best)
#4 Do all tier 2 missions, using your improved main weapon and your Improved Missle Pack
#5 Now, repeat this process with new ship and certifications you have, until you get 4/4/4/4 and doing the tier 3 and 4 missions. Once you get THE agressor, you can have a friend use the turret in the back and you guys can kill stuff together
#6 Now once you get to 4/4/4/4 , its quite a long journey to get master, considering the fact you earned 4 mil space combat exp and you gottado7.5 mil more. Now, use the best ship you got and use your LVL 8 certifications well, and use your special attacks and astromechs to kill the targets to get your exp. also visit PVP ZOnes too cuz theyre pretty neat too, well actually your forced too when i had too for my 4/4/4/4 tier missions. At this point you will now what to kill that gets you the experience, so once you keep the steady rythm of combat, it tends to get faster in a way when you know what your doing
And a few other notes, A-wings were a real pain in the @$$. THEY ARE SO FREKEN FAST AND TINY. I miss 80% of the time. For these little buggies use missles cuz your main weapon is kinda useless in a way, or jsut avoid them
Ya and you wont be able to go to PVP zoneor kesselon your 1,2 tier missions, i forget if you could go on third, dunno, never really tried on third.
Beileve me, it will be worth it when you reach the end. For me, My plan is to have my first ship as The Decimator, decorate it nicley and have imperial parties and hunts. Then my next ship will definetly be The Opressor, if i want freedom and solo stuff. Then my third Ship .. well , i dunno. Maybe my Sorosub, but i dont really like it, waaay too big for me, sorta slow too, and hard to turn. I might save it for my agressor for just if only me and 1 of my buds aer on. I just dunno for the third. maybe Firespray but, lol only luckyppl will be able to get the peices to build the firespray.Other than That, you choose whats best for you to climb up the imp pilot ladder. This is How i did it. It worked well.
It Also HElps to keep yourself healed and buffed to lessen the oponent's damage rate.
If you have your own guide fellow beta testers, post it on this thread or post anything that will help the new guys.
And for the rebs, well, if you didnt have beta, you can see for yourself you only have like 5 ships. Your B-wing is pretty powerful, but you guys are really forced to upgrade your ships
hehe, and other than that, i kill X-wings pretty easily, which is sad and rebel ships are just BAD.
I hope Most of you Are starting to " get the picture and start going imp " lol, j/k. But, i liked the imp tree better, cuz my reb hasnt been master aliance pilot, but has been on the Courier.
The nova has a huge amount of space, but i still didnt like it for various other reasons.
Its up to you rebs and nuetrals, but In SWG And Jtl, Imps always get the Bigger and better half of the cookie, if you know what i mean.
But asa wrap, Here is just my layout of opinions and my guide.
Good Luck and have Fun With JTL

i have been on the edge of imp and neutral for awile. someone told me imps sucked because they only have one main gun so they do like 1/3 the dmg of a x-wing in most of there ships. so that made me want to go neutral but i cant pick without knowing how many main wepon slots the imp ships have and also if more wepon slots=alot more dmg. this kinda put me even again as imp or neutral arg i cant decide.
