Ctrl + Shift + H is what you might be referring to, but that is to hide the entire HUD. It ssounds you can still see the chat window, right Drupps?

Odd problem, try the above key sequence and check the options under Ctrl + O. They did add some new graphical options supposedly and it may have reset some things.

Anyone having serious problems in space? I became a pilot, got my newb ship and none of my HUD icons were showing. I couldn't figure out how to play. Then a guildmate sent a tell and the game crashed. What a piece of sh|t. Anyone else having problems like this?
