I loaded my blaster weapon into my Tie Fighter, launched into space, and hit 'g' to configure my weapons

the blaster is set as the primary, how do I set that weapon to the buttons on my joystick?

On my starter ship the main joystick button fires the guns, but on my -player created ship with my loaded gun

it only makes the 'blank clicking sound' as though no weapon were set for that button..

Go into controls, then keymaps and it will allow you to bind the controls to different buttons...
