it makes no sence to me why i stay with the ship i take a 100 damage to all my stats and if i eject i take 200 damage to all my stats. and i have a had a rare event happen i toke 400 damage once on my other acount. any way revers the damge to if you eject its only a 100 not 200 to all your stats.

That's one reason i never eject. Also, why eject when there's always a chance to get out of the situation without destroying your ship? You can always try to outrun trouble or hyperspace out of hot situations.

The differance is that when you eject, the damage to your ship stops. You are "scuttling" your ship. Remember that when you

repair your ship, being any part or the chassy it shaves off some hit points. If you are at a point where you know you are going to
die and you do not want your ship to take more damage, then eject. Otherwise, the ships systems that are damaged will continue to take more damage until it goes critical and blows up.

I agree that it really is self-destruct and not eject.

It "should" stop all additional damage AND leave the Chassis intact AND not give you wounds. But my understanding is that it damages everything and gives you extra wounds which is of course crazy.

the eject feature really doesn't work like you would think it would. And why when you eject does the animation look like you self-destructed? shouldn't it have the animation of the cockpit seperating from the ship leaving both intact?

They really ought to call this "Self Destruct" - as far as I can see, it DOES damage your components and chassis when you do it - in addition to doubling your personal wounds.

The only point inEVER doing it is if you engine gets knocked out and you can't move anymore. If the bad guys don't blow you up - you'll be trapped in deep space forever. The only way out is toSelf Destruct (eject).

From the design plan and from what I have seen in my own experiance, ejecting does make a diffrence to the damage that your ship takes. It does not take addionally damage it, stops the damage from continuing. Your point concerning needing to eject to escape being trapped is well taken. That very well could happen, but the primary reason for ejecting as I see it is not escape but salvage.
