Perhaps this has been asked before, but the search feature and I don't get along so well - it always seems to think there are 'too many searches in progress' despite my protests to the contrary.
In any event, I have been wondering if it will ever be possible to leave the ship station while it is set on Auto Pilot without stopping the ship?
I think itwould be nice to have sucha feature, and perhaps, as a useful addition to it, an alarm which will sound when aproaching your destination - say 2 - 3K meters out.
In any event, I enjoy JTL immensly, but think this would be an excellent addition to the multiplayer ships.

nope auto pilot is useless. they should call it "point in the right direction" instead of auto-pilot. Being a pilot myself, i find autopilot an embarrassment in its current SWG state

They said in beta they were going to do it, but like most other things it never happened.

I totally agree... it would be nice to have an alarm that went off after you fixed all the damage in the ship too.

This was one of the most requested features at the end of Beta. It was said that it could be done, and probably will be, but there were other things in front of it that needed to be done first.
I know we would all love this, but I think from a design issue, it is very difficult for them with the way the engine is set up.

as for getting the alarms to stop, if everything is repaired and no conduits remain broken, land and launch. That usually fixes it.

just to make sure the initial question is answered: when you leave the pilot seat, the ship stops immediately, whether you just fly straight, use auto-pilot or follow.
you cant leave the pilots seat without making the ship a sitting duck.

It would be nice if the ship didn't stop. Mainly on the Sorosuub.
Just droping someing off in the ship & have to fly around 4k back to the space station at s snails crail is bad enough, but u have to sit there unarmed while you do your item thing (drop/pick-up/move), then take a few minutes to fly back. I'd pay maintence like a house to remove that delay
.
Maybe the problem with MP combat ship having that ability would make an exploit where the pilot could tavel slow & hope into (& swich between) gun turrets to get kills &/or help out ther other gunner. you could also go to full speed, go to the co-pilot slot 7 do engine overdrive 3 & do repairs on the ship all by yourself. Kinda defeats the need for 3-5 players to run the ship.
Guess we'll have to wait & see /sigh
