Its the TIE Interceptor. It is the bent-wing TIE seen in Return of the Jedi.

But for Tier 3 it says you get the TIE Interceptor, so whats the difference between the one in Tier 2 and the one in Tier 3?

Actually, it is NOT the Interceptor. That's a Tier 3 ship. The TIE/In is simply an "intermediate" TIE, same generic airframe (or spaceframe, I guess) as the regular TIE but with more available mass and better handling characteristics.

I just strapped on a TIE/In on Sunday night, and I'd very much recommend getting one. The standard TIE just doesn't have enough mass available to install the higher quality components you'll need to combat thenew threat levels. It also handles noticeably better, much higher turn rate at higher throttle speeds.

I'd go for it if I were you.

Have to agree with this one, I am at the end of the tier 2 missions.
And my old TIE just cant handle it, I am going to have to get a TIE/In.
So I can get more mass for better shields/armor etc.
