Here is the situation:
I am a Vortex Alliance Ace Pilot.
When I speak to Brother Extok Evin he says "You've received your orders." Then you can select "Yes I know." or "Yes sir." from the radial menu.
The problem is that even though he says I have received my orders, I don't find any quest or mission for a Pilot. So this is preventing me from getting any Duty Missions.
I don't know if this is just me, don't know if it is just the Vortex Squadron people, or Privateer Pilots, or Imperial Pilots. I just thought I would post this and see if anyone else is having this same problem or something similar.

Check your Quest Journal carefully. Look for a folder that sounds like a Rebel/Alliance piloting group, and check the listings in it. That should lead you to the active Quest, which seems like the issue.
Also you can try to clear it by starting it and failing. You can usually do that by launching, jumping to each system until you get a Quest message saying you started something, and then landing.

Unless its a space mining job. Those are kinda invisible missions. If you have one, go finish it and talk to your trainer again.

If you have any mission active in your datapad, you can't get another.

So basically I'm screwed and can't do any other space mission because it won't let me drop it. :-x

Let me clarify. The mining missions where you go get X resource need to be completed, as they dont have a datapad object. The mining missions that involve escorts and captures and such, should have a deletable datapad object, and once deleted you should be able to get the mission you need.
