Z-95's use flight computers, not Astromechs. In fact, all freelance ships will use flight computers.

Sometimes the ship management window is stinky about loading flight computers, chaff, and ordinance. Try double clicking it, or opening and closing, flying to another starport - something like that usually works.

Z-95 is a rebel ship not freelance. It looks like an X-wing kind of. It should use a droid. As others mentioned the managment window is screwy sometimes, try closing it and re-opening it. I have that problem all the time when switching gear to another ship I get to the end to load in my flight computer and it won't go. Close the window and re-access the starship terminal and it works just fine.

I think there's a problem loading droids/FCs into the starter ships ... that is, if you're using one you received from the trainer as opposed to going out and buying.

Oh, maybe that could be it, when I had a starter ship back in October they couldn't be upgraded and were pieces of junk so I just dumped it and went and bought a player made chassis.

Whoops, my mistake, was thinking Syck.
If you're 1/1/1/1 and can hold out a bit, the Longprobe is a great upgrade from a Z-95 anyhow (since you're ship shopping). Also, I'd highly recommend a heavy Z-95 as another great ship buy - certed at novice and it'll work great for you, although rebels certainly aren't lacking for good ships.
(I just...need to have some good advice somewhere...I guess....good luck!)
