I just started playing as an Imperial pilot and I am currently stuck in a mission hunting down raider pilots. I have probably shot down around 100 fighters and the mission never ends. Has aybody else come across something like this, should I restart the mission or is this common to early space missions and should I doggedly pursure shooting down those helpless enemies? Please someone help me out, this is very frustrating especially after I maxed out my combat experience and I'm getting no reward for continuing to destroy those fighters.

Yeah...hehe everyone comes across them. Its called a duty mission! Mainly for getting xp. Once you have enough, you go to the trainer and get your next skill with your next mission....try that.
