Thread: My idea on how to make Capital Ships player controlled(without over spaming the ships)

Very simple its more of an anti-spam and anti-lag tatic


First of all No single person can control a capital ship alone...


then you'll require a minium crew of 20 players


20 fighters for one half maned star destroyer...sounds fair


And can hold up to 40 players(The less players the less manned guns)..this "chould" be done by putting some like "spaceship consent" to the 2nd group leader


So when you got theese Clan wars goin on They'll be less Fighters and a few capital ships


What do you guys think?

As long as it's nothing bigger then a frigget. If players went around controling anything with as many weapons mounts as an ISD, it'd get as bad as the ground game with all the jedi that are in the game now.

I like the idea a lot actually, except for the "spaceship consent" thing. As far as I know "spaceship consent" does not work for any portion of the current game or expansion. This means they'd have to write it from scratch. They are already super pressed for time, and so I don't think that adding the creation and integration of a new game mechanic to their schedule is going to happen. It'd be awesome if it could though.


Even 20 players would be reasonable to me. It would still narrow down a battle by 19 objects flying in space per capital ship, and would provide a great teamwork outlet. They already have group fighter ships, so it may be a matter of artwork and concept design to impliment it (maybe building it off of whatever runs the current Millenium Falcon style group fighters).

imperial guilds should be able to have shipwrights in the guild build a SD then the guild can crew it. rebels can get a corellian corvette or frigate, or maybe a mon cal cruiser....

Yeah my idea is just somtin someone can base on but as long as there ain't 5 Star Destroyers in one battle at the same time I'm good, besides if you used 5,the other team chould use 1 frigate and 40 fighters will definatly take down half that and close formation will cuase even more SD deaths
