On this mission i need to dock on an imperial lambada ship to take these documents but the game keeps on saying the ship denies your request to dock.

I don't know if it just takes awhile for it to comply or not. I'm not patient enough though so I targeted it's reacter and disabled it, it let me dock then.

You have to disable every system to insure your abilty to dock with it. The [ and ] keys allow you to target subsystems. I would suggest targeting Weapon 1 first so the ship is firing at you from both sides.
