Anyone else having trouble? Everytime i get this mission the ship just blows up after getting it with the tractor beam.

i think i had this problem, if i remember right, i loade up tractor beam up in a fighter as opposed to m-22t i was using and then it worked?

yep, i got pushed back 5 missions when the publish hit so i had to do this one again, and im having same problem... needless to say im piss off

Yes, having this exact problem.
Picked up the mission 3 times including a re-boot, and full-scan, no luck.

just to cheeck your useing the tractor beam he gave you right? as if your useing a crafted one it blows the ship up

I did this mission about a month ago. When I used the tractor beam on the freighter it pulled the cargo and then the freighter exploded, got mission complete, returned to quest giver and was able to continue untill the broken convoy escort. Went back to it after Pub 24 went live and was able to continue from the convoy mission, got the Y-8 no problem.
I may have just been lucky, sorry to hear your stuck 
They really need to fix this, too many people have been waiting too long for the Y-8.
Oh and I should have said that I used the quest tractor beam.
