Thread: Stuffing a Level 9 Engine in a Tie Advanced

I just managed to stuff a 33K mass level 9 Engine in my TIE Advanced.

It's just so much more fun. This has become my favorite ship. Too bad I'm not a rebel and just wondering how much engine can you stuff into an A-Wing?

My next goal is to make a viable pre-ROTW TIE Interceptor go against Tier 4 and Tier 5 opponents.

Your joking right, right?

A level 9 engine? Crafted i bet!

its easy enough to make a Interceptor viable againist tier 4 and 5 opponents, put a gun, engine, reactor and shield in it.

Interceptors are awesome! Go for it! I live in one for PvP.

I've seen level 10 engines squeezed into A-Wings before - I'm not sure if there was anything left inside afterwards other than the reactor, but dang that little ship was fast.

I have a lvl 10 Nym Corellian Beamrail Gauss Cannon in my Heavy Tie, 95k mass on the Tie so more room than the advanced, but the gun is 53k mass, takes up most of the space. Rest of the ship is outfitted pretty good. Definitely a nice sleeper ship.

I really liked the Advanced though. One of my favorite Pre-RotW ships. Nice job with your equipping it!

Interceptors are the king in PvP in my opinion. I have my all pimped out, with missile and chaff with 1k mass to spare, beleive me it teaches you about mass management.

With 66k mass, I've put an L6 Engine and L9 Blaster on an A-Wing with a respectable amount of room for other components. I don't see it being too difficult to put an L5 Blaster and L10 Engine on an A-Wing and make it work. I've got an L10 down under 42k mass, and I've heard of them getting down into the high 30k's.

Thats what Dimmu was running Sunday. He seemed to fare pretty well. And ive seen Ayanami run a L10 with no shields or armor also. Fun stuff.

I have a lvl 9 103.x engine in my awing, plus the lvl 8 125x.x. shield, lvl one booster, pre-nerf lvl 1 di, basic chaff...no armor and no missiles....nice lvl 7 re'd weapon, only an 8xx.x cap, and the lowest mass reactor i could find to cover the power requirments, with no extra.

Last weekend a guildie needed to do his master vette mission. Everyone was amazed that I had no armor, I ended being the only one who didn't die during the entire mission, including taking out the gunboats at the end.
