I love the TIE-fighter infact the whole imperial starship arsenal. Though, I cant help it, I absoltely adore the YT-1300, by concept and the starship itelf. Kinda made it a personal goal owning/earning one on my own.
But while on the ground I am imperial Im torn on a daily basis being a freelance flying all those, to me, boring starships in order to get my hands on the YT-1300 certification.

While the love for the YT-1300 is higher then for the imperial ships, I do feel I miss out on alot since the only ship I like in Freelance is the YT-1300. Am I the only one with this problem ?

Basically I want to fly for the empire, but I cant cause I want the YT-1300 so badly

Bring me to a second issue, if I cant support my faction all the way (as in being ground imperial but space freelance) I feel cheating on my own faction and I would rather be complete neutral/freelance from a lore/roleplaying point of view, but then I can kiss PvP/GCW goodbye.

I understand that SW is about IMP vs REB, even more so I find the price to fly a YT-1300 very high, I just hope its all worth it cause I never flown/owned one.

Worth it ?

well i was undesied betweenthe 2 as well, i started Imp, droped after tear 2, did freelance till i hit tear 3 droped that cause i missed my Tie Fighter too much, ended up going back to imp and aced SS, the VT-49 is by far a way nicer ship the the YT-1300, i just droped my imperial Ace and got my freelance Ace and fly a YT. the difference between the 2 is this:

YT-1300 = CargoVan

VT-49 = Mustang

the only reson i droped my Imp faction was to play my smuggler as a true underworld criminal, working both sides of the war. and the VT is not really a freaighter type ship. you wouldn't wana put any grubby old cargo in that baby, i still have mine deeded so i can eventuley return to her.

Here's the thing. The only thing you lose out on as a Freelance in a faction is the ability to earn faction points in one Sector. Yes, its the most lucrative sector in that regard, but so what? You can still go and PvP. You can still support your side, you just dont get points for sneaking into Deep Space when no one is around and killing NPCs.
