Thread: Ship issues

Looking for some help here. I am not sure if I am bugged or just missing something obvious.

I have a B-Wing for one of my alts. It turns like a bus in quicksand. So, I go looking for a new engine. One of my guild mates gives me one. The roll, yaw and pitch on it are all something like 500 to 600. I say, “great”. Load it up, jump back into space and see no change. The engine I originally had in was around 70 for each of those. So I get frustrated and call it a night.

Log back in tonight and check the engine to make sure the right one was loaded last night. It seems it was, no brain fart on my part this time. I do notice though that the specs have changed and are now at 70 again. So, I think this is odd but don’t worry about it and go hit up the bazaar. Bought a few more engines all 600 to 800 in the same stats.

This time I pay attention as I lad them. I see the stats drop to 70 right before my eyes as I load them. All the engines are level 4 or 3. I have certs for up to level 5, so this should not be the issue.

I am sure it is just me being a dumb azz, so what am I missing?

Also, the control panel of my ship comes and goes. It will be gone for days at a time and then suddenly show up again after I have been blown up. Next time I blow up, it is gone again for days at a time. This is not just one ship either. I can load any ship I have and it is still not there.

Almost forgot. Why can I only use the travel option for the lower planets and not those above Corellia? I am sure this is by design, but asking anyhow.

Help!

The pitch, yaw, and roll values are mostly governed by the chassis of the ship. The B-Wing is a heavy fighter which is mostly used for bombing roles, it was meant as a successor to the outdated Y-Wings. In exchange for your impressive armament of 4 projectile slots and 2 missile slots you have a ship which is very sluggish and unresponsive compared to the lighter ships such as a TIE Fighter.

Keep in mind that your turn rates are also greatly affected by your speed. Heavier ships are very sluggish and turn like a truck at full throttle, but if you reduce your speed to about half or 1/4 throttle, you'll see that the turn rate is greatly improved. In order to pilot a heavier ship effectively you need to improve your throttle control and constantly adjust your speed as you turn to get the maximum turning rate out of your ship.

Thanks for the reply. I was playing with the speed during turns and such before I posted this thread last night and saw what you are talking about. Again, thanks.

Anyone know about the control panel issue? I can not find a key or any key combo that will bring it back. Is there even one that does toggle the control panel? I have found that other guildmates now have the same issue, so it can not be that rare.

If you are refering to the cockpit frame, then the keymap for that is CTRL+Shift+F2. You can also find the option to turn it on or off in the options menu (I think under Misc), except that it's a checkbox like the on screen waypoint monitor and modifiers window.
