Thread: FIRE SPRAY : Devs your ruining continuty (again).. Proof the Firespray is rare and extinct..
21.5 meters long
Kuat Systems Engineering
pursuit vessel
Laser cannons, concealed projectile launchers, ion cannons, tractor beam
Bounty Hunter
Fett, Boba
Fett, Jango
For all its deadliness and stealth, the Slave I is an antiquated craft of a type rarely seen plying the modern spacelanes. Both Jango and Boba Fett staved off its obsolescence by constantly rebuilding, customizing and updating the ship's many features.
What began life as a Kuat Systems Engineering limited edition Firespray-class ship is now a dedicated pursuit craft worthy of the galaxy's best bounty hunter. Aside from its clearly visible twin blaster cannons, the ship also has numerous weapons hidden away. Concealed in its hull are a turret-mounted tractor beam projector, a pair of proton torpedo launchers, concussion missile tubes, and a powerful ion cannon.
After Fett's apparent death in the Sarlacc pit, the Alliance seized the Slave I and impounded it on the planet Grakouine. As the galaxy was busy turning itself inside out, transforming from Empire to New Republic, the Slave I was promptly forgotten. Using a variety of fronts, a clandestine Fett legally reclaimed the Slave I by purchasing it. As he was refitting the vessel, he used a sleek replacement ship that he dubbed the Slave II.
So enough to debate, make the Fire Spray a NPC ship used only by the main man, Boba Fett. I once again , hope this doesnt upset anyone, even though it will..I would like to see Bounty Hunters get a ship that can be only used by them, but for the love of Starwars, STOP screwing with continuty to do things that are going tobring in money for SOE. On that same note, Haden Blackman needs to be fired,he was sent in by Lucas to make sure that SOE aheres to George Lucas vision of Star Wars and since this game has come out has basically ruined all things Star Wars whichis why the devs are constantly scratching there heads how can we make this game more Star warsy .. Start paying attention to continuty and it will be !

how many freak'n times can players not read dev post? So quick to bash them yet dont read a damnword they say. They plainly stated they will not be following continuity with JTL a thousands times over. The Firespray is in the game, get over it.
"...for many years, the slave 1 was the only surviving firespray, although KSE eventually revived the line around the time of the battle of Yavin." -SW: essential guide to Vehicles and Vessels
sorry, its not so rare.
Take to note though that the New KSE Firespray is different then the original Firespray prototype.
of corse devs threw continuity out the window a while ago, so i guess they can do what they want. oh goody now people can make boba fett clones, a BH with mando armor and a firespray.

I don't think continuity matters in SWG or JTL anyway. In fact, the quest for continuity is the biggest "bug" in Galaxies at the moment. If we were to forget about continuity, and stop getting worked up when its not there, this would be much more fun. This is a game with the "feel" of Star Wars. MMO's should be allowed to run their course, and write their own story. The Devs have created a fun Star Wars game. The only reason its set now (during the original trilogy) is so that its accessable to as many people as possible. If it had been set at the end of EU, where there is not yet a future, it would have sucked for the people who've only seen the movies...they'd be getting chucked in at the deep end, and might feel that they can't play the game without having read masses of EU. Thats also the reason we're getting bits from the prequel episodes coming in. The less involved Star Wars fans will see the Battle Droids and think "Hey, I know what that is!". That's why the AT-ST is a faction pet. It could quite easily have been a special type of Trooper instead, or a tank, or something. But its not. Its the AT-ST, because a lot of people will recognise it as "the chicken thing from Endor". They might not know the name, but they'll recognise it. Thats why Jedi are in the game. People know what the Jedi are.
Some would call it selfish marketing. They're trying to get in as many people to come and play this game, by making it as appealing as possible. Of course they are. But also, they're catering for a wide market. Think of who they've got to cater for...they have Star Wars "fans" - people who've seen and liked the movie, who've played a few games and enjoyed them, etc. They've got Star Wars "fanatics" - people (like me) who read around Star Wars, learning how things work, soaking up EU for the extra details to the story, and so forth. They've got roleplayers from online gaming, who are just looking for their next MMO buzz. There are a lot of people in this game. Some are more bothered about continuity than others. For most, the fact that this is Star Wars is good enough. I'm one of those people. Those of you who are desperate to find the next saga of the Star Wars story...sorry, I think you're looking in the wrong place. SWG lets you tell your own story. If you want someone else to create the story for you, buy Republic Commando, or whatever. Do action A, to bring about event B, in order to complete the mission, and have movie clip C build up the story a little bit for you. The idea of SWG is that you take your character, and create your own personal story, within the confines of the game. There's continuity in some bits and pieces to bind things together, and tie it in with the "real" Star Wars universe, but at the end of the day, Star Wars Galaxies has as much relevance with regards to EU as the fan fic I handed in to my English teacher as a piece of coursework.
The prime objective of Star Wars Galaxies is to create an MMORPG that is fun for the players, and is set in a Star Wars universe. Creating that environment for roleplaying and fun is all the devs can do...we have to do the rest ourselves. As soon as they start closing in the universe, to channel us along a set storyline, they destroy the freedom that an MMO requires.
The devs have done their part in creating Star Wars Galaxies. Quit moaning, and do yours.

actually no, Firespray isnt even really that rare at all. They were a prototype, yes, over 20 years ago before the Battle of Yavin. Boba Fett has the original KSE Firespray-Class Patrol and Attack Ship. But understand that KSE later on came back with the Firespray, a new model, after the battle of Yavin.

Yup. I've been comparing pictures, and taking many notes. ![]()
The new Firespray IS different. Its smaller, one-person, and more rounded. Take a look at the cockpit, for example. Its about the same size as the cockpit on an A-Wing...it just faces a different direction. Compare that to what we saw of the inside of the cockpit in Episode II. Look at the proportions of Jango's Slave I, compared to SWG's.
In my opinion, the new KSE Firespray was designed to be a smaller, faster, more affordable fighter than the original. Its the sort of thing that police forces could actually afford to buy and use, rather than a unique "one-off special"that a Bounty Hunter would have.
