Thread: Is this a bug? Or working as intended?

I've been slowly gathering the components to properly outfit my Nova Courier. Last night I took her for a test flight and there seems to be no feedback on what missile weapons are selected. This is problem, because I'd really rather not fire off a space bomb at a fighter!

Is there just some option that i need to select? Or is this an issue with multiplayer ships?

You need to Group your missiles properly; I believe by default they're all single, but Button 2 (or whatever you use for firing them) is by default select and fire, I have no idea why.

Go into Bindings, and bind something for Next Ordinance Group, and change button 2 to Fire Selected Ordinance Group.

You should do this for Guns as well on your SP ships, especially those who can have 3+ guns -- that way you can cycle G1, G2, et al, for different damage types and firing won't make you shoot *everything*.

OK, if they are all one group by default, that would explain why I'm not getting any message when I try to switch to the next ordinance group. I changed button 2 to just "fire" last night, and use button 9 for selection.

In general, though, I don't se the usual status readouts in the upper right corner of the screen when flying the Nova. Maybe only the Ops officer can check on component damage? Unfortunately, that's also where the missile selection would show up.

Same in my ship, I can hear the slide out of the component registering damage or repairs when in pilot seat but cant see them unless Im in ops chair.

What I did on my stick is maped the 5/7 buttons to groups 1-5. Then I group my weapons acordingly. Like for instance on my nova I have group 1,2 space bomb launchers and group 3 concusion missles. On my Bwing I have wing tip blasters in group 1 ion in group 2 disruptor in group 3 and the missles in group 4,5.

Interesting...

Mine's a Decimator, and switching missiles does in fact tell me which group I've selected on the right-side status bar (pops out - Group 1 selected, for example).

However, I always fly with Alt (freemouse) open, so perhaps that plays a part.

Could also be your ship has a bug...? YT or the Rebel ship?

The Nova Courier is the rebel MP.
