I was wondering if in Future patches of the game that the Space Combat would change a player's Faction Standings. For example, if you were working Rebel Missions which had you kill Corsairs, your Nym's standings would increase and the Corsairs would decrease. Also, the reverse would be opposite. If you were Rebel but had huge negative standings with Nym, the Nym's pilots would attack you.

I am wondering if it does affect some factions. I've always had positive 5000 CorSec faction on my Smuggler toon. I started JTLS (in the Smuggler's Alliance, of course) with him, and had to kill some CorSec ships. After that mission, I killed other CorSec ships just for the experience. Lo and behold, last night I went to Coronet for the first time since I started JTLS, and the CorSec attacked me! I checked my faction and now I have negative 5000 CorSec faction! Keep in mind that I have not done any ground combat since I started JTLS with this toon.
So, either killing the CorSec ships in space did affect my combat rating, or yet another mysterious bug has worked its way into the game.
All I know is that I now need to go and do the Rogue CorSec base POI a few times to get positive CorSec faction again so I can walk around the Corellian cities unmolested!

Interesting.
I got -5000 Nym cause I grined swordman, fencer, and rifleman off Nym's guys. So they hate my guts. But when i'm in space, they are like my best friends. Doesn't make any sense to me. Perhaps they haven't linked the JTL and SWG faction standing yet.

The problem is that sometimes missions will make you shoot down an enemy that you might not necessarily want to kill(ie Jabba's for factioned pilots). There is also the fact that some factions will always agro you depending on your faction. So rather than to force you to lose faction with someone you don't want to, it just leaves it so it's neutral.
I would suggest, however, giving faction after mission completion to not only the pilot's faction but any associated factions with that mission. Oroffer duty missions from space stations that would give faction. I've seen Rebel pilots get chewed up because they pissed off Nym's people in the past but can't help it because their missions are given inside of Nym's Stronghold. The funny thing is that the missions usually revolve around helping Nym out.

Nice. I like the idea. I just think there has to be some way for the space combat to have an effect on the ground. Makes the game more interesting, and more complicated.
