After accepting the mission, I proceed to jump into endor space to seek the Hutt Smuggler. It seems that for every 1 ship I disable, 2 jump in to attack me... Please help!!! Almost every Hutt Ship is a spice smuggler and initiating scan does nothing but make me a easier target for the Hutts... I've been to all 3 waypoints on 4 seperate attempts... The scans either reveal weapons, spice, or nothing. At least on previous missions there was some indication that my target was near... All I get is jumped by 6 or more Hutt Fighters... Help!!!

Have you tried doing your missions with some friends? Tier 3 missions are hard to solo.

I started off trying to solo them, but Igot the "star wars" experience whenI broughta wingman or two along for the ride... and Tier 3's are easy now.

I have no problem docking with a ship and shooting down about 5 or 6 of them before my shields get too low and I have to bug out but the thing that I do not understand is what is the examine supposed to come back with when you find the right ship?

I found electronic equipment, military supplies and nothing.

What is the examination supposed to say when it does find somthing?

And if I have looked at like 6 ships in one area should I move to another waypoint if there is nothing there?

Thanks for your help guys.

I've done this solo using a Longprobe as it has about twice the defensive capability of my X-Wing and I'm a tad too lazy to swap components. Either way, I went about this at the spawn near the Durillium Sea(sp?) and immediately targetted the ships that explicitly said Smuggler in their name and inspected them while trying to fend off the other ships. After about the second or third one, I got a match to the mission description. All the while, I didn't bother destroying any ships other than the Smugglers that didn't have anything on them.

If you're having trouble with the other ships trying to destroy you, I would suggest dogfighting most of them till they're all at least low on armor and try to disable as many as you can in the shortest amount of time you can, including your target. This holds them still for about a minute or two at which they'll self-destruct and more will come, but it will give you enough time to dock and get what you need. If you do find yourself under attack during the docking procedure or right before, I'd suggest using the IFF scramble skill. If you have a droid and find yourself being attacked in the middle of docking, typically the damage you take will be from one side(I normally get attacked from the rear when I dock). If this is the case, make sure you have the shield reinforcement skill in your droid as it does come in handy. It dumps a certain percentage from one side to the other(50% for moderate I believe) and gives you the extra cover you need to get what you need and go.

Final note, it sounds like you aren't doing much when you're scanning a ship. The best way to do this is to just joust the ship you want to inspect and as it gets really close, hit the inspect key. You just need to be close enough to start it, after it has started, you can pretty much do whatever you want. You don't have to be a sitting duck for the other ships, you're more than welcome to fight back.
