I'm sure I read of a command to get it back.

Did you submit a ticket via Customer support in the Holocron or did you submit a ticket via /bug which is a totally different department and never respond because they dont.

/ClaimVeteranReward is to get the deed to the yacht. It has absolutely no effect on your Lots that you lose from generating the Yacht and then destroying the Data Item later.
To the OP, as Sairnath asked, make sure you submit via the Holocron, and are submitting a Trouble Ticket, and not a Bug Report. You have to use the knowledge base first, and actually click on and read one of the articles before it will let you submit a ticket, but I had my lot returned very rapidly when I deleted my Yacht. I later decided to generate a Yacht again, and now I'm hesitant to remove it because I don't want to have to bug the CSR's to fix my lots a second time. Apparently the Dev's didn't put in the code to redeed the Yacht, so you can only destroy it, which doesn't update your lot count. I expect that someone didn't see any of the Veteran's wanting to destroy this thing, despite the fact that it DOES take a lot, AND takes one of your 3 ship slots, which is rather stupid. I can see the Lot use, due to the ability to store items in it. But taking up a ship slot for a non-combat ship that will be available to *anyone* once they hit their 6 month part is pretty lame.

I had this same problem. Once I was able to meet with a CSR on line, we were all fixed and set inside of 5 minutes.
