I just got JTL somehow I am spinning around in the cockpit and facing the wrong way while fighting, why is this happening? How do I fix it so I am facing space and not my chair?

I had a similar problem, and it was my joypad causing it (using mouse in JTL). But for some reason my joypad was making my ship turn.

Fixed it by going to the game controllers option and reseting the direction pad.

This is probably no help to you but you never know

Does sound like a camera issue. 5 on the keypad is default to reset camera view. Think the 0 on numpad locks the camera, but I put one of my missiles there. Checking options/controls/keymap is a really helpful exercise.
