Thread: Officaial Word from SOE concerning the JTL pre-order and its incentive offers!

Well, I did it. I went and called Lucasarts store concerning the pre-order from the LA store and if you get the speeder or not. They, sadly, had no clue and said the people at SOE have the info since it was an "In game" Issue. Silly me I did not get the persons name of who I talked to.
So, i got into the SOE online chat area and got a CSR. The following is a copy of the transcript with my personal info removed for my own state of mind.
You have been connected to CSR Bill C..
CSR Bill C.: Hello xxxxxx, Thank you for contacting Sony Online
Entertainment. One moment please, while I read your question. Thank You!
xxxxxx: Hello Bill!
CSR Bill C.: Hi there.
CSR Bill C.: Will check on this, standby.
xxxxxx: Thank you for looking into it. It seems rather trivial but it
is an issue on the SWG boards that no one seemed to have an answer for.
So I thought id take it and ask.
CSR Bill C.: It appears that the flash speeder is only being offered in
retailers such as EB games, this is given for all preorders. We will
not be offering them.
xxxxxx: Excellent! Do I have your permission to paste this
conversation into the SWG boards?
xxxxxx: I also do appreciate your time and effort looking into this
for all of us who was asking
CSR Bill C.: You sure can, in fact we do not sell Galaxies at all, they
are officially sold at the Lucasarts store.
CSR Bill C.: Retailers such as EB games and Gamestop are offering this
pre-order promotion I believe.
xxxxxx: Thats strange that the CSR at Lucasarts store said to talk to
you guys hehe. That doesent inspire confidence. But at least you knew
what was going on!
xxxxxx: Well that covers my question. Ill let you get back to the
other waiting customers. Thank you for your time!
CSR Bill C.: Is there anything else I can help you with today xxxxxx?

Well, there ya go. The closest thing we have to an offical source on who is offering the speeder and beta acceptance. I hope this helps people here. Its helped me.

Isnt it just amazing? LA actually referred me to SOE, and SOE doesent even distribute it! As a side note, LA is backordered on its JTL orders. So Im cancelling mine and going with EB or GS.

Hey! I know Bill C. he helped me witha scam problem, well not helped more like referred me to his superviser e-mail address which was probably fake but oh well.

SOE may not distribute it, but they did develop the game and are responsible for it's content. I don't see what's so amazing about talking to them and not LA about an in-game issue.

Well, it was IMO a distributition issue. Not an in game. LA is distributing it, and just today a note of "Pre Order Incentives" linked to the LA store. I see no "incentive" to order from LA. So I asked LA about it. They had no clue about incentives. Why is the link on the front page there when there are no real incentives to pre order through LA other than not going to the store and getting it on release day?

I cant get mad at a CSR. Thats what ive been stuck doing ever since the dot.bomb back in the late late 90's early 2k. Im quite familliar with getting yelled at for something stupid my company has done. 9 times out of 10 Im usually in aggreance with the customer in thinking that the new policy or whatever is stupid. The customer usually doesent care tho

Draveel, thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting this. That this stupid preorder business for a GAME seems trivial to me at the same time, I am grateful anyways.

Do you know if you have to pre-order online to receive the incentives? Cuz I went to the store directly and pre-ordered it. I'm not worried about the BETA since I signed up for an invite and got it, but I am wondering about the Flash Speeder.

The store's fine, I went back in to pick up my CD from Gamestop the other day. Not Sure about EB, though.
