So according to one of the features written by SOE, when you initially train in pilot you will be issued "at least one" certification. I assume this goes hand in hand with the "work on raising your faction rank" (my quotes) thing to get ready for JTL. Does anyone know for sure if having colonel or whatever actually gets you another ship certification? I have a feeling it does not and i'm wasting my time running missions to no avail.
Comments, conspiracy theories, suggestions?

The statement about getting high rank and FP in order to get ready for JTL, was posted long time ago by the DEVS.
Seeing that neutrals can now go imp or reb pilot, it stands to reason that rank/FP no longer play a role in ship cert.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no benefit to faction points or faction rank in JTL. The early early posts about faction helping, have never been backed up with any additional information.
If I were you I would concentrate on credits, not faction points.

You can start out as neutral, and fly for a faction. Some of the quests require you to be aligned with a faction in order for you to do them. That's all that can be said right now. I'm sure some dolt will come around find this thread violate the NDA and give you the specifics.

I dunno...
It just doesn't seem righ that a rebel can't pilot a YT-1300... I mean what about GENERAL CALRISIAN!!
What about Han Solo... YOu can't tell me he was still neutral after the Battle of Yavin, I mean he got a rebellion medal for goodness sake.
I understand factionall ships, Imperial Tie Pilot's shouldn't be in x-wings and vice versa, but Neutral ships should be just that.
Unless they're separating Hutt faction ships, Black Sun faction ships and Neutral ships... can we get a clarification??

Faction points have nothing to do with pilot.
you can be an Overt/Covert Imperial and be an Imperial or Privateer pilot
you can be an Overt/Covert Rebel and be an Alliance or Privateer pilot
you can be a Neutral and be any of the three pilots
Want to be a Rebel who can fly a YT-1300 then become a privateer pilot
Want to be a Imperial who can fly a YT-1300 then become a privateer pilot
What pilot you aredetermines what ships you can fly

Not giving out any new information here. It's quest based so you can't do rebel quests as a privateer from the rebel trainer (there are more then one privateer factions though).
