Thread: Pre-order disk question

I have a question about the pre-order beta disk that arrived in my mailbox today (ordered from EB). Is it possible for me to unlock and use the bonus vehicle right nowby inputting the serial key on the back of the beta case into the expansion section of launchpad? Basically, I'm not interested in playing the beta at all--I just pre-ordered so I could get the vehicle. The envelope that the disk came in didn't have any documentation so I'm not entirely clear on how the whole thing works.

You will not receive the flash speeder until JTL goes live (full version game). You still should input the key that came with the bonus disk so that the account you enter it in is "flagged" to receive the flash speeder when JTL goes live.

Ah I see thanks. I also just noticed that there is basic documentation inside the CD case that suggested this as well.

If you do go to beta, you can test out the Flash speeder now, in beta...

And if you don't join beta, don't be upset if there are things in JTL that you don't care for. Beta is your time to let the devs know what you want in the update! Use this tool! Fantastic things were changed and improved very fast because of us beta players...

I can appreciate that comment, but I guess from a practical point of view I don't see the point. The game is coming out within the next 3 weeks (presumably), and while I do have a suggestion or two, I also realize it would be impossible for the devs to implement them within that time frame (assuming they even choose to listen to the ideas).

From a more psychological point of view I don't want to spoil the excitement of the game for myself by testing every aspect of the game before the game is even released--I want to see it with fresh eyes when it comes out. I have read the beta boards already and I am confident the current beta testers can catch and report any problems that might spring up until then.

You would be SO surpised what can change from day to day (literaly) in beta due to forum comments, in this beta! But I also understand not wanting to spoil the fun before the big day. I wrestled with that too, but i also wanted to be assured that some thinks i, and others, didn't think were right were corrected...and it was!

See ya in game.
