The NPC ships with turret style weaponry... aka.. the Imperial Gunships, Rebel gunboats, YT-1300... and the most annoying.. TIE Agressor.. are EXTREMELY high damage and too accurate... i cant even take out a lower level Agressor.. without being blasted in less than 5 seconds.. because no matter where they are.. they hit you hard... and almost 100% of the time...
/sign this if you thinkthis is correct and should be balanced.

As a Rebel when I'm engaging a turreted vessel I intensify the forward shields, cycle through the target compoents and define "weapon0"or "weapon1"and then charge in guns blazing ignoring anything else. The turret vessel is going to be your main threat, until you can disable it then nothing else should matter. I typically don't have many problems with a turreted vessel when I use this method.
But I do have to agree that the NPC accuracy and damage output froma turret is a bit high... watching Star Wars Ep IV, when Han and Luke are in the turrets they probably hit only about 5% of the time.

i dont know if this is just on our side, but i attacked a few of the big rebel gunboats while i was out galavanting. when i was in front of it, i was getting torn apart, but wondered if they had as powerful guns in the back, so i did a quick fake out and got behind them, to my surprise and happiness, they couldnt even fire in the back, so i just sat there and shot it out of the void, and it couldnt even hit me.

Of course I have fought them
It's a good way to get lots of xp although it takes a while in a tier 2 ship.
And if you get it wrong they wipe you out in a couple of hits.

I hate turrets, they are 100% accurate and do a ton of damage. T3M3 involves a tier 4 Nova with 2 turrets. The turrets rip me to shreds before I can even get behind it. Taking a tier 4 nova's shields down even with Eweapons takes some time and you have about 5 seconds once those turrets go active, if he fires a missile it's over. Once the shields are down you have to take out his armor, then you can hit a subsystem. Best case scenario would probalby take about 7-10 seconds, but those 2 turrets pummel you to death long before that.
Turret weapons should not be as powerful as ship mounted weapons, but it seems like they are.
