Ok, dumb question here - what are the unprogrammed Data chips listed under on vendors? Electronics? Ship Components? Or something else?

They are for Programming your droids, you get certian abilities as you progress in you piloting skill. ie. reactor overload, you program that chip with program, insert into your droid or flight computer, and install on your ship. this allows you to use that command.. the holocron gives a full step by step.

I think "Misc", and not in a sub-category. Also, the flight computers and few other things only show up there, not in a sub-category. No doubt this is a bug, and might be corrected in an upcoming patch.

Be advised that they are made by Droid Engineers. I could not find a ShipWright, on Naritus, that had any.

I have read that you can by pre programed chips.

Can I give my R2 unit a program I don't have a cert for and make my droid do it for me?
