I was wondering if anyone could give me some kind of clue as to the advantages of the neutral's "light fighters" such as the Ixiyan. I am still running with my Kimogila for it's large mass capacity and am finding little reason for upgrading my fighter until Tier 4 as the other ships are all "light" and couldn't support effective equipment. Are there any advantages to the light fighters?
I have pvped in the kessel as a x-wing (balanced fighter) and a a-wing(speed and turning)
I would rather use a a-wing why?
1. I can stay behind most players. Tie intercepters/advanced.
2. Speed, you can outrun any ship.
3. in space pvp, 3 hits from a advanced blaster will kill anything expect some of the tier 5 ships.
4. In the a-wing I can hold down my trigger button forever.
5. pitch,yaw,roll, you can out turn any ship.
6, you will see when you get the new ship. You might like the speed alot better.
7. When I pvp'ed as a x-wing. I had alot of trouble shooting the fast advanced/freelance ship's. They where so small and moved fast.
Note*
You might have to buy new parts, that are lighter.
Rember you will be quick.So focus more on good blasters,boosters, and engines with a speed of 90 or more. Also get a capicator with a 30 or more regen and a 900 energy output. You will be able to spam your primary weapon forever. Loot capicators are the best. Only defencesive thing you should get, mark 4+is some really good sheilds. keep the armor at mark 1 and the reactor. Your freelance so you can overload the recator as well. That helps in the fast ships because you can then add missle/counter measures. I have missles and counter measures in my a-wing. But, they are made from very rare loot drops from tier 5's.
I looted one(capicator) off a tier 5 intercepter in the kessel. 1067 energy , 36.7 regen. I barely even move the capicater. Also, get Fast blasters from a shipwright. They can make upgrades that speed up the weapon. I suggest you get a speed blaster because they are balanced sheild/ armor as well.
