Thread: Elite piloting professions What would you like to see?
However, given that JTL just came out, I seriously doubt the dev's would undertake a major overhaul of the game already to implement this. Maybe 6 months or a year down the road?

Huh? He clearly stated that the purpose of this thread is to have fun and speculate. I see no indication of "complaining". Chill, bro. ![]()
I wouldn't mind (of course, being the smuggler that I am) seeing implemented an opportunity for us to modify ships or parts. Illegally, of course, which would bring about the possibility of being attacked by the "policing" elements. Like a CorSec ship that launches droid fighters at you after a scan. High-tail it, or fight. ![]()

and what's wrong with stating what we'd like to see in the future? Nowhere in the thread is the word "NOW" used, apart from your post

Fair enough.
Scientific Specialist : I deliberately left this vague, but it could be perhaps of space surveyor for nebulae and asteroid based resources (my third and fourth titles).
Orbital Surveyor: A space bound version artisan surveying. You take your ship into close proximity of a planet and start scanning the surface, You then get global results of resource concentrations, with which you can then land and head out to that area to refine your search.
Asteroid Miner: Mine resources directly from asteroids. Either by use of a mining laser (fires continuously at rock like a cutting torch, and 'sucks up' the vapourised rock), or by blasting asteroids apart and catching the fragments. You'd then take them to a ground based refinery (which could be realised in same way as a factory?).
Nebula Harvestor: Goes into a nebula and collects the gases present.
Resources from the latter two should be "exotic" such that they would provide better artisan experimentation results, and thus make them worth collecting.
