all of the engine overload commands damage your engine i noticed that overload 3 does 6 dam to the armor but gives you about a 25% increase in speed just make sure you have enough spare reactor energy as it will disable weapons systems if you don't have the spare energy.

Thus the need for Reactor Overload.

Or even worse. It can even disable your droid Interface. And now guess what you can do. Landing is not very helpful as it seems this setting sticks on the engine.
The only thing that helped me was to land, remove all weapons and the shield, start again and use engine normalization. So take care what you do up there and use the commands in the appropriate order. I use reactor overload4 after that engine overload4 and then weapon overload3.

Blowing up in a ball of fire is a quick way of fixing that disabling effect.

Of course, you'll have to live with the chassis and component decay if you do that.

I have noticed that /eshields tend to reset droid commands when it's done, so maybe that would work too? I need to test this...

Hehe, I prefer the land and remove weapons and shield way.
Chassis are a little too expensive for getting them killed this way.

decay. lol.

anyway, the disabled droid interface goes away in time. if you aren't in a huge hurry, just wait it out. it does not take long for the power settings to reset.

Yeah but if you use a pump reactor you can undo the engine overload.
without having to land or blow up.

I use all the droid specials at my disposal...the way I figure it...the advantages keep me from dying...and dying decays the parts more than the droid specials do...thus...Full Set of Droid Specials > Dying

Damaged caused by overloading (engine/reactor) isn't bad at all. For every 10 points repaired, you lose only 1 point, and they're not cumulative, so as long as you repairbefore your next flight, you should be ok.

Using one of your space specials resets all droid commands as well. These would be the EMP blast for Privateer etc. No need for decay, no need to land.
