The star ravager is a peice of cake guys, just have to use the proper tactics. Hands down the worst part is killing the fighter escort, after that its a cake walk.

STEP 1: KILL FIGHTER ESCORT
First thing you need to do is draw them away from the 'vette, draw them away in the direction the vette came from, that way it doesnt fly back into range. I like to go for the oppressors first since their missles are dangerous and countermesures are expensive. After the oppressor(s) are dead, kill the rest of the fighters and then move on to the hardest part of the mission, the aggressors. when i ran into the aggressors, they were flying in close formation, and like an idiot i went in from behind and used my normal tactic. While that works agianst one, its damn hard with two firing at same time. after having to iff, i decide i was going to commit the ultimate sin and *GHASP* joust. two aggressor engines later i was ready to move on.

STEP 2: DESTROY BOTTOM GUN ON VETTE
This is where the tactics come into play. The Star Ravager only has one gun that can fire below it. I am not sure which weapon it is on the system list, but if you dont have to target it, just eyeball it without the computer ("reach out with your feelings!") and using a simple non RE'd lvl7 gun and weapon overload 3 you should be able to kill it in just 4-5 direct hits if that. congratulations, the vette can no longer shoot you from below.

STEP 3: TAKE OUT THE SHIELD GENERATORS
Now that you have created a huge turret blind spot, fly in front of and slightly below the vette and make a few runs on the shield generators, they are on the front face of the "shoulders" where the neck connecting the bridge meets the main body. You can eyeball this too, but otherwise target them and shoot for the lead indicator, its pretty accurate here. If you always stay below the vette it will never fire at you, but the gunboats are a different story. Try to come in at an angle where the gunships line of fire is blocked by the vette itself. Otherwise, just recharge before each pass. Dont take any risks, you are only a couple minutes from disabling the vette.

STEP 4: DISABLE ENGINES
For this, just streak in fast at an angle that will present you to the least number of gunboat turrets possible. I was able to do it in one run, but didnt turn out fast enough, rammed the vette, and the gunboats got a hit on my rear armor before i was outta range. I would suggest two full speed passes, jinking as you come in to dodge most of the gunboat fire. Once the engines are down get outta there and wait for the gunboats to fly off. They will continue on leaving the vette defenseless at your mercy.

STEP 5: BLOW UP THE REST OF THE STAR RAVAGER GUNS FROM COMPLETE SAFETY
The two side guns are what i shoot next. They look like they can shoot down, but ive never been fired on by them before. So just come in from below and light them up, they are just aft of the main body. For the four guns on the top of the main body, kill two at a time, coming in from below and to the side. just creep along until you get a shot, and you will find an angle from the side and below that will let you take out two of the four at a time. Once those are down, you can creep up farther and you will find the last gun just forward of the main body on teh top of the neck. creep up til you have a shot, and kill it. All of these weapons cant hit you if you come in from the poper angle. If you get shot at you did something wrong.

STEP 6: KILL IT
Two systems left. The reactor is on the top in the middle of two engines, shoot it a few times and the bridge appears on the list. Then all you have to do is fly in front of it, wave your middle finger, and shoot the glass.

Five stars - seeing as I did this TWICE last night in an Advanced, it is doable. The turrets can only strike in 180-degree hemispherical arcs, so if you're below them, they're blind.

You might want to put in that you would want to wait to start your attack run until AFTER it's completed a turn and is flying straight and narrow, though - because when it starts having the "bucking bronco turn seizure" that it does, it's nigh impossible to draw a bead on the subcomponents.

Also, you might want to add that it's smart to leave one turret alive on the Vette, as if you take out all the turrets first, THEN go for the shields, the Vette has a nasty tendency to spook and hyper.

I was about to write a similar guide, but I was going to use this illustration to make it easier for rookies to find the subcomponent damage areas:

Yes, droid commands are tradable and usable by pilots of all factions. I use all four Rebel Level III shield codes on mine.
