Ok I hear that for PvE as a privateer, if you are a Corsec you can't attack rebel fighters/get xp from them and if you are an RSF you can't attack imperial fighters/get xp from them, however if you are a Smugglers Alliance you can attack and get xp from both. Is this true? As I have heard two different viewpoints on this.

As a SA pilot, i can confirm that you can shoot down CorSec and RSF forces, but you can not shoot Hutts.

what i was concerned with was imperial and rebel factions.

As a CorSec 4/3/3/3 pilot, I can confirm that you CAN shoot ANY rebel or imperial ship and most other factions too. I have heard some say that CorSec cannot kill CorSec, but I pretty sure I have killed npc CorSec too.

I also know that if you are flying with Imperials as a CorSec, you need to be careful around bomber stirkes. They can and will attack you. They will definitely attack if you you shoot them during battle and might just be aggro anyway. Had two times last night with some imps where I had to hyper away from their aggro bomber strikes.
