These level 92 reward engines that we hear so much about appear to now be gone. Having them removed as a mission
reward is not such a big deal, but it really is disapointing to have the reward system switched so early on.
Why was this change made? I don't expect any Dev response but it would be nice to know what is going on. There where
no patch notes. Was the reward to uber? If the reward was to uber then why not just give out a less powerful engine instead of
no engine? The best player made engine that I have been able to obtain with alevel 7 cert is 83. I am sure there are better out there.
Speed is life in SWG and giving one class of players an advantage over another class of players is cool. Time and time again the early bird feast well the casual players are left with an empty bag.

It's really unfair if it's gone... Especially since Shipwrights can now craft similar speed engines.

Shipwrights are crafting 92 and 103 speed engines on my server. The 92 they craft has the same mass as the reward engine that I have. . . the way I see it, they just didn't want to make Shipwrights useless for that Tier, engine-wise. A non-scamming parts vendor that I go to offers his engines for 30K-50K credits, and that's one or two space hunting trips, if you are selling off pieces to the Chasis dealer. If you're NOT selling parts to the Chasis dealer, and you have a Shipwright you are giving them to in your PA, have THEM make you an engine.
Incidentally, said vendor is on Ecipse Server, Tatooine, just outside of Anchorhead, and his shop is literally named "Ship Components". Shipwright parts only get impossibly expensive when Shipwrights decide to drop a 500% markup on items. Frequent the non-schiester Shipwrights if you want them to stick around and turn a profit.

You guys are missing one important point here. Shipwrights may be able to craft engines with speeds over 100, but they cannot craft an engine with speed over 100 AND yaw, pitch, and roll rates in the 60's like the reward engine has. If you fly a fast fighter like an X-Wing or A-Wing, ypr rates in the 40's will severely limit your effectiveness. So the Tier 3 reward engine is vastly superior in that regard to even the fastest player crafted engine. If I had the choice of either a looted engine that had 70 speed and 61 yaw 62 pitch 64 roll or a crafted engine that had 92 speed 45 yaw 48 pitch 47 roll to put in my X-Wing, I'm going with the looted engine.
When it comes to a ship like a Y-Wing, Nova Courier, or B-Wing then I would go with the absolute fastest player crafted engine I can get. Yaw, pitch, and roll are going to suck on those ships anyway.

My level 7 crafted engine is 89.1. I won't miss the speed of the 92.whatever, but I hear the maneuverability of it was awesome for a 92 speed.

Its because the devs apparentlyalways baby who ever cries the most- this time it was the shipwrights. Get this, they were sad because they couldnt monopolize the ENTIRE field of components. So they cried, and of course, the devs babied them at others expense. So now we all get to loot mostly junk loot, just so the Shipwrights can be happy, and haveTOTALcontrol overthe entire ship component industry, instead of just 1/2 of it like they did pre-nerf.
And I'm a Shipwright 1213 saying this, and I still think the change sux. There was a balance b4-now the scale tips all the way for the SW, no love for the little guys I guess. Yea great fix there.
Stupid. They owned 1half the field- reactors, shields, armor, chasis's,and ordanances, but NO. Half wasnt enough theyhave to have control and monopolize it all, cause they cried that ppl only bought theirchasis's and (overpriced)ordanace- OH BOO HOO!
I'm sure there'llbe able to craft,"TEH MOSTEST POWRFUL:L CAP IN A:LLTEH GLAXY" soon also.Devs willslowly remove all loot that is anything useful cause their still crying now about it, at this very momeny, evenafter their fix was alreadyimplemented.

Maybe ship weapons should be moved to weaponsmith and armor to armorsmith, makes sence and then SW wouldnt have total monopoly on space like they do now

I just received an engine as a mission reward last night. It is not 92 speed, im pretty sure it was 76 speed (if I remember correctly).
I am doing the Smggler Missions from Jabbas Palace. It was for completing the mission that gave me 3-3-2-2 status.

this sucks, the best looted engine i've found since beta is 68.something, and i bought a same lvl crafted 75.5, now the SWs can craft better engines than the reward engine, i say boo to that. The SWs have a ton of things they can craft better than loot, and the rewards where the main thing that was better, why'd they have to go and take that away

I am one of the lucky ones that received the reward 92.2 engine but as stated it was heavy and drained too much energy. So I looted and searched the bazaar (b4 chasiss dealer cut into that) for other LVL 6 engines to RE it. Now have an engine 97.7, P/Y/R rates in the 60'swith under 8k mass and a drain under 1400. Let's see a shipwright make that. Yes they can make faster ones at higher certs but not without affecting the other stats. And I'm still partial to my kimo and don't want the only thing to fit it to be just an engine.

Umm...thanks?? I gave mine away. Better engines are so plentiful, both looted and crafted, it'sonly really a mildly decent enginepast Tier 3.3 anyway.
